📡 Telecom Made Simple – Voice, Data & Video Calls

■ Voice
When you speak on a mobile call, your voice is turned into small digital packets (VoLTE/VoNR) and sent through the mobile network to the other person almost instantly.

■ Data
Browsing, messaging, or using apps is “data.” Your phone breaks information into IP packets, which travel across the network and internet to deliver websites, emails, and app content.

■ Video Call
A video call sends two streams at once—your picture (video) and your voice (audio). Both are compressed, turned into packets, and delivered together so sound and image stay in sync.

📡 How the Signal Reaches You

1️⃣ From Device to Tower (Uplink) – Your phone converts voice/data into radio waves and transmits them to the nearest cell tower.

2️⃣ Through the Network – The tower passes the packets through radios, baseband units, and the core network to the internet or another user.

3️⃣ Back to Your Device (Downlink) – The response travels back through the tower, is turned back into radio waves, and your phone converts it into sound, text, or video.

Uplink: Phone ➡️ Tower (sending)
Downlink: Tower ➡️ Phone (receiving)
Networks manage timing and power so signals from many users don’t collide.
