Hace unos meses, mi hija Claire tuvo un bebé: mi primer nieto. Me ofrecí a ayudar: quedarme unos días, cocinar, limpiar, arrullar al bebé para que ella pudiera dormir.
Ella dudó. Luego, una noche, llamó. Su voz sonaba fría, como si estuviera leyendo un guion.
Claire: "Es mejor que no vengas por ahora. Mi esposo dice que no es saludable para el bebé tenerte cerca. No quiere que piense que ser madre soltera es algo normal".
Me quedé en silencio. Crié a Claire sola desde que tenía tres años. Sin llamadas ni pensión de su padre. Trabajé en dos empleos, me salté comidas, le cosí el vestido de graduación a mano y firmé cada tarjeta del Día del Padre. Y ahora, todo eso, cada sacrificio, se reducía a una etiqueta de advertencia. Un mal ejemplo. Me sentí devastada.
Mi hija necesitaba una señal del Universo para ponerle fin a eso.
Lo único que dije fue: "Entendido". Colgué, me limpié las lágrimas, fui al cuarto donde había estado guardando regalos para el bebé y los empaqué todos.
Y al día siguiente, por fin me los llevé. Pero no a la casa de mi hija, sino a un lugar completamente DIFERENTE See less

Branson is in unbearable pain. Morphine barely helps. Watching him struggle, helpless, breaks me.

Post bone marrow transplant has been the hardest chapter. The adenovirus ravages his body, but his white blood cells are slowly rising—a small victory amid fear. Today, my lymphocytes were collected to help fight the virus, our best chance yet. We pray they work.

I hold him, whisper reassurances, brush his hair, trying to be present while exhaustion and fear press in. Even in pain, he shows courage beyond imagination. Every blink, every breath, every small victory teaches me what strength truly is.

Please, pray for Branson, for his healing, and for our family’s endurance. Every prayer matters.

Branson, my sweet boy, I see your fight. We will face this together, every step, every breath, every day.
