Saffron Sweaters’ debut album, Skardu, was conceived on a trip to the mountains, evolving in concept and scope as they frolicked around the region with a random assortment of tiny synthesizers and recording devices. Each track was named after the site it was recorded in, and
attempts to capture the awe and beauty of Skardu’s landscapes. Their approach blends field recordings with minimalist acoustic instrumentation and synth-based drones, producing immersive soundscapes that balance playfulness with moodier contemplation.

Introducing Saffron Sweaters! 📢

Saffron Sweaters is an ambient music project spearheaded by Karachi-based musicians and best friends, Muhammad Maaz (.qiq) and Saad Akbar (), who bonded over their shared love for the genre. They draw inspiration from nature and pay homage to ambient artists such as M83, Boards of Canada, and Brian Eno (as all things are), blending field recordings with electronic textures. Their music combines aspects of their individual styles, resulting in a whimsical interplay of moods and melodies.
