Phones are among the germiest objects we touch daily. Hundreds of species of bacteria and viruses can live on their surfaces because we use phones in bathrooms, kitchens, and even while eating. Unlike our hands, which we wash regularly, phones often go uncleaned, making them hotspots for germs that can easily transfer to our faces or other surfaces.

Cleaning phones, however, requires caution. Harsh chemicals like bleach, hydrogen peroxide, vinegar, or high-concentration alcohol can damage screens and coatings, reduce touch sensitivity, and cause smudging. The safest approach is to gently wipe your phone with a soft microfiber cloth. Lightly dampen the cloth with around 70 percent isopropyl alcohol, taking care not to let moisture enter ports, speakers, or other openings. Cases and charging cables should be cleaned separately using the same method.

By following these simple steps, you can significantly reduce the germs on your phone without harming it. Regular phone cleaning, combined with good hand hygiene, helps prevent the spread of bacteria and viruses in everyday life.

Feeling tired, bruised, or down? here are 10 subtle signs you could be low on vitamin C.

Vitamin C isn’t just about fighting off colds—it plays a major role in keeping your body running smoothly. From energy levels and skin health to bones, gums, and even your mood, this nutrient pulls a lot of weight. But if your diet’s been lacking in fresh fruits and veggies, you could be running low without realizing it.

One of the earliest signs of vitamin C deficiency is fatigue. You might feel tired or weak even if you’re getting enough sleep. That’s because vitamin C helps your cells produce energy. It also supports a healthy immune system, so frequent colds or infections could be a red flag. If you bruise easily, notice slow-healing wounds, or have sore, swollen joints, that could mean your collagen production (which relies on vitamin C) is out of whack.

Skin changes like dryness or wrinkling, painful gums, or even loose teeth can show up in more severe cases. Some people may also experience mood swings or feel down, since vitamin C plays a role in brain function. It even helps your body absorb iron—so being low on it can contribute to anemia and cause symptoms like shortness of breath or pale skin.

Severe and prolonged deficiency leads to scurvy, but the good news? It’s rare and easily preventable. Load up on colorful fruits and veggies like oranges, strawberries, peppers, and broccoli, and you’re good to go.
