Sony FX5 vs Canon R6V — which one would you choose? 🎥

On paper, these two cameras offer very different approaches to filmmaking and content creation.
The Sony FX5 is built around a more professional cinema-focused workflow, bringing features like 4K 240fps, advanced internal recording options, dedicated false color, and professional monitoring tools. Of course it has open gate as well.

The Canon R6V, at $2,499 USD, offers a full-frame hybrid option at almost half the price of the FX5, while still giving creators powerful video features, Open Gate recording, internal RAW options and 5-axis stabilization.

The price difference is huge:
Sony FX5 — $4,898 USD
Canon R6V — $2,499 USD

So the real question is…
Do you need the professional cinema workflow of the FX5, or does the Canon R6V give you everything you need for almost $2,400 less?

Blackmagic just made full-frame 6K cinema cameras a lot harder to ignore. 🔥
With prices dropping by over US$1,000, the question now is:
Would you buy the Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6K or PYXIS 6K at these new prices?
Or would you still spend thousands more on another cinema camera that could potentially deliver a similar final image?
At US$1,595 for the Cinema Camera 6K and US$1,995 for the PYXIS 6K, the value proposition has become seriously competitive.
Are we entering a point where spending $5,000, $10,000, or more on a camera is becoming harder to justify?
