The forensic staff and other investigating officers, including senior superintendent (SSP) East, reached Aamir Liaquat Hussain's house to collect evidence after the Karachi-based politician and entertainer passed away on Thursday.
According to SSP East Rahim Shirazi, the police received information regarding the lawmaker's death at about 1pm. He informed that the lawmaker lived with two of his employees, one of whom had informed the police.
Aamir Liaquat was found unconscious in a locked room at his Karachi residence and was rushed to a hospital where he passed away.
The SSP stated that the crime scene unit was called to the house to collect evidence. “An investigation has been started, taking various angles into account. The postmortem report will make things clearer,” he said.
He further maintained that no member of Aamir Liaquat's family was present at his house.
