PML N senior leader Nehal Hashmi named Sindh governor
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has forwarded a summary to President Asif Ali Zardari for appointing Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader Nehal Hashmi as the Sindh governor.
According to the PM's Office, the prime minister has sent the summary for Hashmi's approval as the Sindh governor to President Asif Ali Zardari.
The statement added that PM Shehbaz met Hashmi in Islamabad and congratulated him on his proposed appointment as the governor.

Schools in Sindh to remain closed on Feb 4. Decision applies to both public and private educational institutions across the province.
The Sindh government announced on Friday that all schools and colleges in the province will remain closed on February 4 (Wednesday) in observance of Shab-e-Barat.
The notification was issued by the Sindh School Education and Literacy Department and shared on the official social media account of the Sindh Information Department on X.

‘I was made to feel I was not needed’: Broadcaster Ishrat Fatima on quitting Radio Pakistan after 45 years.
Veteran broadcaster Ishrat Fatima bid farewell to Radio Pakistan on Tuesday, bringing to a close her 45-year historic journey in broadcasting.
In an emotional farewell speech on Radio Pakistan News, Fatima described how painful the decision had been for her.
“Today I am saying farewell to my 45-year association with Radio Pakistan. Before bidding farewell, I would like to thank you (audience) and Radio Pakistan from the bottom of my heart,” she said.
During the announcement, Fatima appreciated all the love and respect she had received from her audience and expressed gratitude for her Creator and parents.
Not getting into many details about her decision, she requested her listeners to remember that she had always tried “very hard” to fulfil her responsibility justly with great effort and love.
