Islamabad remains under lockdown for a second consecutive day as Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan’s (TLP) protest march continues its advance from Lahore towards Islamabad, prompting widespread road closures, travel disruptions, and heightened security.

Authorities have sealed all major entry points into Islamabad via the M-2 Motorway, spanning from Kalar Kahar to the capital, as part of precautionary measures.

Key interchanges at Chakri, Kala Shah Kaku, Fateh Jang, Islamabad Zero Point, and the M-1/M-2 junction (connecting Peshawar traffic) have been closed to the public.

Over the past two months, catastrophic floods have displaced millions across Pakistan and claimed thousands of lives. After wreaking historic havoc in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Punjab, floodwaters reached the Indus River Delta.

Unlike other parts of the country however, the inhabitants of the Sindh Delta are not only happy about this water but are Celebrating it.

The recent surge of freshwater has driven the sea back, allowing fishermen in Sindh to return to their villages and finally catch the Palla fish after years.

Former senator Mushtaq Ahmad has arrived in Islamabad from Jordan after spending a few days there following his release from Israeli custody.

He was leading the five-member Pakistani delegation as part of the Global Sumud Flotilla.

The FO in a post on Monday had stated that through its Embassy in Jordan were “working tirelessly to secure the safe evacuation of former Senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan,” and that his return is expected “within the next few days.”
