The Lahore High Court has given a last chance to the public prosecutor to present the procedure for determining the prices of petroleum products

A two-member bench headed by Justice Abid Aziz Sheikh of Lahore High Court heard the request of judicial activism.

The petitioner contended that there is no mechanism to reduce or increase the prices of petroleum products, the rules and rules are violated when the prices of petrol are increased.

The petitioner further said that the court should immediately ask for a pricing mechanism for petroleum products.

During the hearing, the public prosecutor did not submit details related to the price mechanism of petroleum products, which the court expressed displeasure.

The court declared that no opportunity will be given to the public prosecutor at the next hearing, in any case a detailed report on the pricing of petroleum products should be given.

The Lahore High Court adjourned the hearing on the application till October 26

ISLAMABAD- The federal government refused to allow Punjab to import wheat.

In the high-level meeting of the Chief Minister of Punjab, concern was expressed over the non-permission of the federal government to import wheat. Bole Punjab sought permission to import 10 lakh metric tons of wheat by paying itself. Imported wheat has been supplied to Sindh and other provinces. Shahbaz Sharif is plotting to take revenge from the people for expelling PML-N from Punjab and trying to create shortage of wheat.

Chaudhry Parvez Elahi said that due to flood victims and other reasons in Punjab, import of wheat has become inevitable. The attitude of the Federation towards the people of Punjab is not only sad but also condemnable. Federation did not give share to Punjab.

The meeting discussed about subsidy on urea, phosphate, wheat seeds and imported wheat. Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi directed to devise a workable and better procedure for subsidy.

The number of dengue cases in Islamabad started increasing day by day. According to the District Health Officer Islamabad, the number of people affected by dengue has reached 3 thousand 814. 50 cases of dengue were reported in rural areas and 40 in urban areas during 24 hours. The total number in rural areas is 2224 and in urban areas the number is 1590.

The DHO says that 46 people have been diagnosed with dengue in 24 hours in Pims. There are 826 dengue patients in PIMS, 116 in polyclinic while 83 patients are under treatment in CDA hospital.

One patient died of dengue in the last 24 hours. The number of people who have died due to dengue has reached 9 so far. DHO says that spraying is going on on a daily basis across the city.
