Two American tourists were discovered asleep at the top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris on Monday, having managed to evade security the previous night, as reported by the monument's operator on Tuesday.

Security guards woke up the men early in the morning during their routine rounds before the Eiffel Tower's 9:00 am opening time, according to Sete, the organization that manages the monument.

Paris prosecutors mentioned that the individuals seemed to have become stranded due to their high level of intoxication.

Both men were taken to the police station in the seventh district of Paris for questioning. Additionally, Sete stated its intention to file a criminal complaint. The incident of the two infiltrators was responsible for a delay of approximately an hour in the Eiffel Tower's opening to the public on Monday morning.

Earlier on August 1, the federal government raised petrol prices by Rs19.95 per litre for the upcoming two-week review.

Reportedly, the government of Pakistan is considering increasing the petroleum levy to meet the conditions set by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which could place an extra financial burden on citizens.

Anticipatedly, the federal government was expected to raise the petroleum levy, potentially resulting in an increase of Rs 3 to Rs 5 per unit in the initial electricity tariff. This could also lead to higher gas prices for the citizens of Pakistan.

On Sunday, a devastating incident occurred near Saharai Railway Station, between Shahzadpur and Nawabshah, when 10 bogies of the Hazara Express derailed while traveling from Karachi to Rawalpindi.

The tragic accident resulted in at least 30 fatalities, and more than 100 people sustained injuries, as reported by ARY News.

The derailment caused 10 bogies to veer off the tracks, creating chaos and injuring passengers on board.
