Islamabad: Pakistan successfully performed the test launch of indigenously developed Guided A number of Launch Rocket System (GMLRS) Fatah-1 on Tuesday, the military stated.

Hungary's big companies relating to food, technology, medical and IT were planning to invest in Pakistan, informed Hungary's Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto.

Pakistan and Hungary launched the 'Trade & Economic Window' for collaboration in diverse fields and explore joint ventures in energy, information technology, and tourism on Thursday.

As an important step of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs towards economic diplomacy, Foreign Minister Qureshi and his Hungarian counterpart Peter Szijjarto through video-link launched the Hungary-Pakistan Trade & Economic Window and also the first bilateral Business Forum.

He mentioned that the promotion of high-level ties between the two countries could increase the volume of bilateral trade.

The World English Scrabble Players Association (WESPA) Youth Cup was won by Syed Imad Ali of Pakistan in Karachi. This is his second time winning the tournament's top prize.

In the finals, Imaad Ali defeated his opponent in 9 of the 13 games. Pakistan won the event, and Hasham Hadi Khan, another Pakistani who qualified with 26 victories, finished fourth after winning the final seven games.

Around 80 players from 14 different countries played in the competition. Apart from him, two Pakistani players, Ali Salman and Usman Shaukat, remained in the top ten until the final round of the group stage of the championship but were unable to advance to the next round.

He is currently the first and only person to win the World Youth title twice, having previously won in Dubai in 2018. In November 2019, he became the youngest player to win the Junior World Scrabble Championship in Torquay, England.

Imaad will receive a reward of Rs 100,000 from Pakistan Scrabble Association President Nadeem Omar.

Following the tragic incident of abuse of a woman in Greater Iqbal Park, the Punjab government has decided to hire the services of private security companies in major parks.

According to sources, armed private guards will patrol the parks on motorcycles. At the same time, the Punjab government has directed the PHA to install cameras in all parks in Punjab.

Sources said that the Punjab government has decided to fix the old cameras in a week. On the other hand, the PHAS decided to transform their security guards into a baton-carrying force for which special training would be imparted to the PHA force.

In this regard, Advisor to the Chief Minister Asif Mehmood has said that orders have been issued to arrange lights in the parks. Adviser to Chief Minister Asif Mehmood said that protection of women in parks is the duty of PHA.

The Punjab government has decided to introduce environment-friendly electric buses in Lahore, Faisalabad and Bahawalpur to facilitate the people of respective cities.

The decision was taken in a meeting of the Punjab Masstransit Authority held in Lahore with Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar in the chair.

The meeting deliberated on the recommendations about the launch of new transport system in different cities as well as fixing of orange line metro fare. The meeting also reviewed the proposal to start double-decker buses in big cities of Punjab.

Similarly, the meeting decided to extend the scope of Punjab Transport Company to remote areas of the province.

The CM also directed strict action against vehicle owners using sub-standard gas cylinders, adding that crackdown should be continued against vehicles using LPG cylinders. The chief minister also directed concerned officials to present comprehensive recommendations before the cabinet meeting to take a final decision.
