Event organisers for Dubai Airshow 2025 have confirmed that Israeli defence companies will not participate in the exhibition. Six such firms had been registered initially, but a “technical review” by the technical committee led to their exclusion.

Timothy Hawes, Managing Director of Informa Markets, explained that all participating companies are subject to this review, and that the decision came after careful assessment. He highlighted that defence remains a major component of the show, even without the Israeli firms.

The Dubai Airshow will feature participation from 98 countries and over 20 national pavilions, showcasing both commercial and defence displays. The absence of Israeli firms marks a notable shift, reflective of regional sensitivities tied to the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

Although the Global Sumud Flotilla could not reach Ga_za, it created an unexpected opening for P@lestin!ans. While Isr*eli forces intercepted the aid boats, the diversion allowed Ga_za’s fishermen to venture into the sea despite the strict blockade.

For months, P@lest!n!ans had been forbidden from fishing freely, with the blockade limiting their access to essential livelihood. During the distraction, however, local fishermen were able to cast their nets and return with one of the largest catches seen in years.

Observers describe this as a symbolic yet powerful success of the flotilla. Even though the aid mission was stopped, it broke the blockade in an unimaginable way by enabling Ga_za’s people to reclaim, even briefly, their right to the sea.

The Isr@eli navy has detained more than 450 international activists aboard the Global Sumud Flotilla after intercepting nearly all boats in international waters. The convoy was carrying humanitarian aid and volunteers aiming to break the Ga_za blockade.

Activists are being held at Ashdod Port, where Isr@eli authorities plan to deport them to Europe. Among those detained are prominent campaigners, lawmakers, and citizens from dozens of countries. This has triggered global protests and diplomatic backlash.

Human rights organizations have condemned the actions as violations of international maritime law. Critics assert that blocking peaceful activism and deporting detained civilians undermines human rights and demands accountability.

After Isr@el intercepted much of the Global Sumud Flotilla, over 45 Turkish civilian vessels have now set sail toward G@za to join the humanitarian mission. The ships carry aid, supporters, and civilians, and the move signals Turkey’s escalating involvement amid global condemnation of the blockade.

Turkish authorities report that several activists aboard the flotilla were detained, phones were jammed, and communications disrupted near zones Isr@el claims as under its naval jurisdiction. Turkey says it is closely monitoring the safety of its vessels and citizens while demanding adherence to international maritime law.

The inclusion of Turkish ships brings renewed scrutiny to the legality and risks of breaking Isr_ael’s maritime blockade. The flotilla’s advance, despite interceptions, is seen by many as a symbol of resistance and solidarity with civilians in Ga_za.

President Gustavo Petro of Colombia has ordered the expulsion of all Isr@eli diplomatic personnel remaining in Colombia following the interception of a Ga_za-bound aid flotilla and the detention of two Colombian activists said to be sailing in international waters as part of the flotilla.

Petro described the acts as “a new international crime” committed by Isr@eli Prime Minister Benja*min Netan*yahu, and demanded the immediate release of the activists, while invoking Colombia’s foreign ministry and calling on the Isra_eli justice system to respond.

In a further escalation, Colombia immediately terminated its Free-Trade Agreement with Isr_ael, in force since 2020. The move signals deepening diplomatic rupture and marks one of Latin America’s strongest condemnations of recent Isr@eli actions.

Ha_mas issued a strident response following Israel’s interception of the Global Sumud Flotilla, labeling it a “criminal act” and accusing Isr@eli f0rces of blatant violation of international law. The group asserted that the flotilla’s mission was purely humanitarian and that such maritime aggression cannot be tolerated.

In its statement, Ham_as called on Arab and Muslim nations, civil society, and global activists to stage widespread protests and condemn Isr@el’s actions. It urged that this interception should not deter solidarity efforts, insisting that humanitarian aid must reach Ga__za despite the blockade and military threats.

The militant group warned that Isr@el’s interceptive measures would only deepen P@le_stinian resolve, and vowed that future missions would be more resilient. H@_mas also appealed directly to the United Nations and international legal bodies to hold Isr@el accountable for what it called piracy and aggression.

Senator Mushtaq Ahmed, aboard the Global Sumud Flotilla, issued a serious warning: mobile phones on the vessels have reportedly been jammed, with Israeli aircraft visible overhead. He cautioned that an attack could happen at any moment as the flotilla traverses high-risk waters.

He described an atmosphere of tension as the boats navigate toward Gaza, urging vigilance and readiness among all participants. Communications blackouts, unidentified drones and naval shadows are intensifying fears of imminent confrontation.

In his address, Mushtaq said that despite these dangers, the mission continues to push forward for humanitarian access. He appealed to the international community to monitor developments and intervene to ensure the flotilla’s protection from any aggressive acts.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi delivered a strong statement, saying that history has already preserved India’s humiliating defeat at the hands of Pakistan. He stressed that pride is measured in wars, not cricket, and no sporting outcome can rewrite this reality.

Naqvi’s remarks came in response to ongoing cricket hype, where some fans equated sporting victories with historical dominance. He clarified that while matches bring emotions, national honor is safeguarded on the battlefield, where Pakistan has already proven its strength.

The minister underlined that Pakistan’s sacrifices and victories in conflicts are documented in history. He urged the nation not to let temporary results in cricket overshadow the country’s lasting pride and resilience against India.

India’s camp has been shaken by injury blows ahead of their blockbuster Asia Cup final against Pakistan, top batsman Abhishek Sharma and all-rounder Hardik Pandya have both sustained injuries in team training sessions. Their availability for the match is now in doubt.

Abhishek, whose consistent form has been pivotal in India’s campaign, is reported to have a hamstring strain, while Pandya’s injury is believed to be a back muscle pull. The team’s medical staff is evaluating both, but replacement options may not match their impact.

The sudden setbacks give Pakistan a potential advantage in the final. Indian selectors are under pressure to make last-minute changes that can maintain stability in batting and depth in all-round bowling. Cricket fans will watch closely as India’s path to the title faces a dramatic twist.

Pakistani cricketers Haris Rauf and Sahibzada Farhan have both pleaded not guilty during ICC disciplinary proceedings, rejecting allegations related to Rauf’s “6-0” gesture and Farhan’s viral gun celebration during the India vs Pakistan Asia Cup clash. Both athletes argue the gestures were misinterpreted and lacked malicious intent.

Rauf’s defense emphasized that high emotions often accompany this historic rivalry and asked the panel to consider the context, while Farhan asserted that his celebratory act was spontaneous and not aimed at provoking opposition fans or officials. Both plead their innocence under the ICC Code of Conduct.

Insiders suggest that while penalties like fines or warnings are possible, the ICC will weigh precedent heavily in its verdict. Many eyes across the cricketing world await the decision, as it may set the tone for acceptable celebratory conduct in high-pressure international matches.
