Guess who?😂
Heard people at work discussing how they've sent their 5-6 yo daughters to a school where it was mandatory for girls to wear a scarf, a shalwar & full sleeves clothes
I was so surprised at parents being okay with that. So I asked them why would they do that? They said it's a GOOD habit for a girl to learn so they don't mind
Here's my two cents on the topic: I think it is..weird to make girls wear a scarf forcibly, at an age they don't even understand the purpose of it! Also - when your religion doesn't even make it mandatory at that age. You as parents are being unfair to that young girl. Many of you will disagree to it, & ask how is this FORCING her? If you admit her in a school where it is mandatory for her to wear a scarf, she would have to comply to it obviously, how is that not forcing?
I know it is a good habit which might be instilled in your daughter due to being in that school, BUT there's a high chance that your daughter starts finding it a burden & can not wait for that school to end so she can get rid of that rule! Enforcing a certain thing, without letting her decide, after she understands the concept behind it, you're only preparing her to run away from it. Many people believe the 'culture' in which girls are brought up, they adapt to it, but in case of hijab I find this concept extremely problematic. This is your daughter's decision to take & this is the parents' responsibility to bring her up in that way, that she has those 'values' which they're looking to instill in her, through school rules! It's really unfair to a child if you enforce things on her from such a tender age, only to get her in the 'habit' of it. Religion doesn't even force it on her in that age, how can you?
I know most of you would still think that there's no harm in sending your daughter to such schools, but let me tell you, you'll understand the harm when she runs far away from it, thanks to you making that enforcement her introduction of hijab! I wish such schools which want to focus more on religion, actually practiced religion in its true sense & let a child be a child without forcing her behind curtains because of her gender! I means she's just a child?!
