The Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) has released its aviation statistics for February 2024, revealing notable increases in aircraft movements, passenger numbers, and air cargo and mail.
In terms of aircraft movement, there was a significant rise of 30.1 percent compared to February 2023. The total number of aircraft movements for February 2024 reached 22,736, compared to 17,479 during the same period in 2023.
Passenger traffic also experienced a substantial surge, increasing by 34.9 percent compared to February 2023. Qatar recorded over 4 million passengers in February 2024, with over 3 million arrivals.
Moreover, air cargo and mail saw a notable increase of 15.4 percent compared to February 2023, with a total of 198,639 tonnes transported during February 2024, compared to 172,085 tonnes in February 2023.
January 2024 also saw significant growth compared to the previous year, with a 23.8 percent increase in aircraft movements. There were 23,994 flight movements in January 2024, compared to 19,377 during the same period in the previous year.
