Security forces have foiled a major terrorist plot in Karachi after neutralizing a vehicle laden with explosives in the Baldia Raees Goth area.
According to officials, a mini truck carrying approximately 2,000 kilograms of explosive material was safely disabled during an intelligence-based operation. Additional locally manufactured explosive material was also recovered from a nearby compound. Authorities stated that the seized explosives were allegedly intended to target famous Mall, however, no casualties were reported as a result of the operation.Security agencies have launched further investigations to trace the network behind the attempted attack.

Islamabad District and Sessions Court issues non-bailable arrest warrants for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi
The court issued the warrants over CM Afridi’s failure to appear in a case concerning misleading allegations against state institutions and damaging their reputation.
The hearing was presided over by Senior Civil Judge Abbas Shah, who ordered the arrest and production of Sohail Afridi. The next hearing in the case has been adjourned to January 17.
The case against Afridi has been registered by the NCCIA under the PECA Act.

In a statement posted on social media, the US president said that the United States had carried out a large-scale operation against Venezuela and its leadership. Trump claimed that Venezuela’s president and his wife were captured and transferred out of the country, adding that the attack was executed with “very careful planning.”
Meanwhile, Venezuela’s vice president said that the authorities have no information about the whereabouts of the president and his wife, and demanded proof that both individuals are alive.

The government has announced a reduction in the prices of petroleum products. The price of petrol has been decreased by Rs10.28 per litre, bringing the new price to Rs253.17 per litre. Similarly, the price of diesel has been reduced by Rs8.57 per litre, with the new price fixed at Rs257.08 per litre. A notification in this regard has been issued. The revised prices will remain effective for the next 15 days.
