Truth be told, every single day gets me to a place where I am more confused of what is it that I am doing? How certain 'wins' make me question whether I even deserved it in the first place, or more so was it even mine to win? The world is perhaps the noisiest it has ever been, but it sucks when you can't even hear your own voice amidst it.
Somehow, you realize how quickly life is simply crawling by and you are now 'this person' you can't even look at in the mirror.

•° let this be your reminder to do what your heart says.
And if you can't hear it in all this noise, turn deaf to the world and simply feel your heart beat against it all. ✍️

There's something so destructive about having a good memory, it has a way of coming back to you without any headsup. Like a bus that is about to topple all over you, but has no headlights on nor makes a sound. It just blindly speeds directly towards you until it hits you. Takes you back only to realize that most of the significant parts of your life, the good and the bad, can never truly be washed away. And though it might not be easy, might be unquestionably difficult to confront it, but it makes you, you. So it's ok, to remember certain things a little all too well. ✍️

Always tried to stay apolitical and "out of trouble" for the safety of myself and my family. But in reality this silence and staying apolitical, has really led to the complete demise of humanity in our nation.
So, here I am not going to say much... but just question, what is democracy in our nation? our elected prime minster was simply removed by a certain group "having seats" in the assembly? What is democracy in a world where one of our fearless journalist was tracked down and killed brutally all the way in Kenya!?
What is democracy, when the whole country and city by now knows how underpaid and overworked doctors are. And yet still, when we stand up for the basic facility of a simple "health-risk" allowance stipend we are inhumanely silenced and shunned. I personally can count so many people who caught life-threatening contagious diseases from the wards, during my housejob and here literally a negligible sum seems too much for them for us to sacrifice our own health, every single day of our lives? The amount of impact today, that a government doctor has and the responsibility that's laid on us is uncanny.... but no, hell breaks lose when a doctor suddenly learns more than the disease of a patient, the disease that's in his own society and finally stands up for his/her own rights..!!! Sacrificing sleep, having zero work-life balance solely in order to be a "good doctor" and yet in return your own life and health means nothing to the country you live in???

Sorry, no job needs to require this amount of selflessness. Not even the ones in healthcare. I guess, today should be a solitary day for the nation. Please don't make anymore sons and daughters a doctor in this country. They won't be able to cure this nation of this disease.

I had my last ER call for general surgery this weekend. And just like every other ER call it was a ride to remember. It's between the chaos of screams and worried attendants to landing in a COT with a man bleeding >3000 ml of blood, with no match or unmatched blood for transfusion, to finally losing his life purely out of sheer lack of time & resources. To finding yourself in the middle of DRE of a helpless 16 year old female bleeding to death, from dengue shock syndrome. To the cries of a mother echoing the ER department whose child just met with a severe RTA, & his friend expiring at the spot.
Yes, it's sure truly a blessing to see your patients stabilize and finally recover even while they come in emergency. But it's that feeling of regret/helplessness for the ones you couldn't save that stings you the most and stays for way longer than you expect it to. It's coming home from a 26 hrs call to still staying up and reading up about ways that maybe/maybe not, perhaps you could have saved your patient? Truth is as vast science ever is...you always end up doubting yourself at the end of the day. No matter if the odds have been laid against the life of your patient but it still leaves you questioning whether you could have done something to turn that around. ✍️

You spend your whole life seeking for a closure, only to find that there's none. Its always a never ending road that'll only make you as perplexed as the journey was. And no, you don't reach any final destination that can help you find the peace you're yearning for. But it's that one particular moment, when you realize the 'here and now', and how it's all that you'll ever have. There's "no curtains down" moment and end titles to play to this story you're writing, it's just the plot that'll keep making you run out of ink and sheets.
However, one day you'll definitely find that the certainty of uncertainties are oddly satisfying, in this strange, strange world. ✍️

This is from the middle of our never ending final year medical prof exams. I recall us finding this adorable cafe to study in, since library was closed on Fridays and we had to find a place to study then.

Everytime I recall final year times, I am reminded of the awful alarms I had, the race with time and the countless course outline. But then now that I look back and get a glimpse of the little good parts like this. I smile to myself. Tbvh more than feeling bad about the sacrifices I made during the 3 months., I feel proud of those now.

So, yeah if you're struggling today and absolutely hating life rn. Go and find a small good thing that lifts you up a little through this struggling period. Even if it's for a little while make sure to cherish it. ❤️

Even amidst the utter chaos of growing up there's magic not too far from where you stand. Not at the brink of a false hope, but the idea that even while you're lost there's so much you've found in yourself, in the people you love, in this particular moment and in the God that truly holds you when you no longer can.
There's grace and radiance in your everyday hustle bustle that is bringing you closer each day to who you really are.
So next time you feel lost. Know that you're not alone and though this life might seem impossible and too cumbersome, know that in every moment you breathe there is a something worth living for. You might not know what it is today, but you will someday.
So keep on going, even if you don't really know where it is that you're going rn. ✍️🧘
