Karachi: Dawood University of Engineering and Technology conducted its highly anticipated Entry Test 2025 for Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Science, and Bachelor of Architecture programs on 20 July 2025. The test was administered by IBA Testing Services Karachi and held simultaneously at three venues: IBA Main Campus, IBA City Campus, and CEMET (Centre for Entrepreneurship, Management and Emerging Technologies) Rohri, Sukkur.
For the first time in Sindh, Dawood University introduced the B.S. Information Security Engineering program with due approval by Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) at its Jinnah Campus, attracting strong interest. The Entry test also included futuristic programs with huge job scope such as B.E. Energy & Environment Engineering and B.E. Materials Engineering.
The test was conducted in the morning shift. It covered admissions for DUET's Jinnah Campus, CEMET Sukkur, and the Faculty of Information & Computing Sciences at Gulberg Town, Karachi.
For admission to 1,688 seats across 18 disciplines, 3,677 candidates registered for this yearโs test, with 3,466 appearing โ reflecting a 94% turnout. Female applicants accounted for 23.3%, a promising sign of growing gender diversity in STEM education.
Candidates from a wide spectrum of educational backgrounds appeared in test. 1,999 candidates came from the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi, while others represented BISE Sukkur (241), Federal Board Islamabad (101), BISE Shaheed Benazirabad (209), BISE Larkana (171), Sindh Board of Technical Education (52), BISE Hyderabad (179), and Aga Khan University Examination Board (41). This wide representation underscores Dawood Universityโs significance as preferred choice of Karachiites for Engineering & Science education.
As with previous years, DUET ensured a well-organized, transparent, and technology-driven testing environment. Facilities included air-conditioned halls, shuttle services, and QR-code based electronic attendance systems. These arrangements reflect the Universityโs ongoing commitment to providing an inclusive, modern, and student-centric experience.
Vice Chancellor Engr. Prof. Dr. Samreen Hussain (S.I, T.I), Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Abdul Waheed Bhutto, Registrar Prof. Dr. Syed Asif Ali Shah, and members of the Admission Committee visited various centers to review the arrangements. Director CEMET Prof. Dr. Ghulamullah oversaw the test arrangements at Rohri. Parents and candidates praised the universityโs arrangement and management, underscoring DUETโs dedication to educational excellence.
