As you are aware that consumer rights & consumer protection have acquired there due position in most parts of the modern world today. In developed countries, there are independent ministries as well as special consumer courts focused to resolve the issues related to consumers. In the same perspective, our vision is to see aware, conscious, respected & protected consumers in Pakistan. Consumer Foundation is a non profit public company licensed under section 42 of Company's Ordinance 1984 by SECP Government of Pakistan. The foundations of our objective are laid on the following core values of our vision:
• To create awareness & to establish the sense of consumer rights in Pakistan.
• To promulgate, propose, advocate & to stipulate the comprehensive legislation.
• To Protect & safeguard the rights of consumers through administrative measures. Developing a liaison among the consumers and the producers is considered to be an inevitable step for creating such a market which is fruit bearing for both. Consumer Watch has received a formal accreditation by Ministry of Information & Broadcasting. In 2011, we revised and further improved the format of consumer watch. This magazine now consists of research-based articles, exclusive write-ups, analytical reports, expert's opinion and interviews. All the content is focused to address multiple aspects of consumer related concerns on monthly basis. The prime objective is to create awareness among consumers about their rights & responsibilities and to promote active citizenship through addressing the issues that are directly related to consumers & consumables. Realization of the rights at consumer's level and acceptance & acknowledgement at government and producer's end are the desired achievable. Through the launch of this magazine we have taken up the task of highlighting the difficulties & issues faced by the consumers. At the same time we are also determined to communicate these issues to the producers so that the best possible solutions can be sought. Moreover, this magazine will also act as a watchdog for the government authorities; Shall be propagating and protecting the rights of consumers and proposing and suggesting improved legislature. We request you to join hands in order to support & protect millions of consumers in Pakistan.
