A major theft has taken place at a jeweler’s shop in Ganchi Market, Malir City, Karachi.

According to police, unknown suspects broke the locks of the shop and took away a safe. The safe contained more than half a kilogram of gold and 500,000 rupees in cash. The total value of the stolen gold is estimated to be around 27.5 million rupees.

Police said the incident happened late at night. The shop owner, Iqbal, informed the police in the morning. The crime scene unit collected evidence from the spot, and three market security guards have been taken into custody for questioning.

It is worth mentioning that a few days ago, another robbery occurred in the Korangi area, within the limits of Awami Colony police station, where jewelry worth millions was stolen from four shops.
