In Michigan, a snowy owl nicknamed “Creamsicle” has become an online sensation — not for its rarity, but for its bright orange feathers that have left scientists baffled.
Wildlife photographer Julie Maggert spent four days tracking the owl before capturing viral images showing vivid orange streaks across its normally white plumage. Snowy owls are usually white with dark markings, and experts say there’s no known case of natural orange coloring in the species.
