Sonia Ahmed Films Sonia Ahmed, an emerging director is a Muslim woman of colour who migrated to Canada from Kuwait.

Ahmed graduated in Business from the University of Ottawa in 2004 and started her career in filmmaking in 2013. She has already started working on her next documentary about the transgender people of Pakistan to shed more light on the inhumane treatment that they go through. Ahmed’s journey is about shedding light on those areas of her community where there is a need to tell the stories of the voiceless.
