Former U.S. President Donald Trump has indicated that China could face new tariffs, similar to the 25% duties recently imposed on India due to its continued purchases of Russian oil.

“We did it with India. We’re probably doing it with a couple of others. One of them could be China,” Trump stated, adding, “It may happen... I can’t tell you yet.”

The remarks come amid growing pressure on countries maintaining economic ties with Russia during its ongoing war in Ukraine.

The latest agriculture census has revealed that Pakistan's 97% farmers own less than 12.5 acres of land and the size of a farm has also shrunk, which the Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal says is a matter of concern due to shrinking scale of the economy.

There were only 16,958 landlords in Pakistan who owned more than 100 acres of land and held 6.2% of the total farm land, according to the 7th census that the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics completed after a gap of 15 years. The average landholding by these landlords was 215 acres per person.

NASA Plans Nuclear Reactor on the Moon by 2030

NASA is fast-tracking its goal to build a nuclear reactor on the Moon by 2030 to support future human settlements, according to US media. The move comes amid growing competition with China and Russia, who may declare lunar “no-go zones” in the future, officials warn.

While experts support nuclear power as the most reliable energy source for the Moon, some scientists question if NASA’s goal is realistic — especially with recent budget cuts and rising geopolitical tensions.

The idea isn’t new: NASA issued reactor design contracts back in 2022. Meanwhile, China and Russia plan to build an automated lunar nuclear plant by 2035.

The Moon race is heating up — and it’s nuclear this time.

Did you know? Scientists have discovered that the tomato is the 'mother' of the potato! 🍅🥔

A new study reveals that the modern potato was born from a genetic hybrid between a tomato and a potato-like plant around 9 million years ago. This ancient "marriage" led to the creation of a brand-new organ — the tuber — making potatoes what they are today.

Published in Cell, the research found that the key genes behind tuber formation came from both parents:
SP6A gene from tomato (tells plant to make tubers)
IT1 gene from Etuberosum (helps grow underground stems)

This discovery not only solves a 9-million-year-old mystery but also opens new doors for future potato breeding and agriculture! 🌱

If you’ve been struggling to hit 10,000 steps a day, there’s good news — a new study suggests that just 7,000 steps may be enough to improve your health.

Published in The Lancet Public Health, the research shows that people who walk 7,000 steps daily have a significantly lower risk of heart disease, cancer, diabetes, depression, and even dementia.

In fact, the added health benefits of walking beyond 7,000 steps are only slightly higher. The study also found that walking 7,000 steps improves balance and reduces the risk of falls more effectively than walking 10,000 or more.

Interestingly, other research supports that walking backwards can further boost brain health, coordination, and reduce back pain. So, walking smarter — not necessarily more — might be the key to better health.
