The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“Witr is a right. Whoever does not perform Witr is not from us.”
(The Prophet ﷺ repeated this statement three times.)

Sunan Abi Dawood, 1419
This hadith strongly emphasizes the importance of the Witr prayer. Although Witr is not obligatory like the five daily prayers, the repeated statement of the Prophet ﷺ shows how greatly it was stressed and consistently practiced. Neglecting Witr reflects carelessness toward an essential Sunnah that completes the night prayer and strengthens one’s connection with Allah.
Before going to sleep, make it a habit to pray at least one rak‘ah of Witr, even on busy or tiring days. This small but consistent act can bring immense reward and help maintain a strong nightly bond with Allah.
