Hadith Commentary: This hadith highlights the great virtue of arriving early at the mosque on Friday. The angels sit at the doors of the mosque and record the names of those who arrive according to the order of their arrival, with those who come earlier attaining greater ranks and rewards. The examples of a camel, cow, ram, chicken, and egg mentioned in the hadith illustrate the varying levels of reward. The chicken and egg do not refer to sacrificing them; rather, they illustrate the reward of giving them in charity. When the Imam comes for the sermon, the angels close their records and devote themselves to listening to the sermon. This also shows the importance of listening attentively and silently to the Friday sermon, as even the angels listen to it attentively. A person who arrives after the sermon has begun receives the reward for attending Jumu‘ah, listening to the sermon, and participating in the prayer, but misses the additional virtue specifically granted to those who arrive early.

حدیث حاشیہ: اس حدیث سے معلوم ہوتا ہے کہ جمعہ کے دن مسجد میں جلدی پہنچنے کی بڑی فضیلت ہے۔ فرشتے مسجد کے دروازوں پر بیٹھ کر آنے والوں کے نام ان کی آمد کی ترتیب کے مطابق لکھتے ہیں، اور پہلے آنے والوں کے درجات زیادہ ہوتے ہیں۔ حدیث میں اونٹ، گائے، مینڈھے، مرغی اور انڈے کی مثالیں اسی تفاوتِ درجات اور اجر کو واضح کرنے کے لیے بیان ہوئی ہیں۔ یہاں مرغی اور انڈے کی قربانی مراد نہیں، بلکہ ان کے صدقہ کرنے سے حاصل ہونے والے اجر کی مثال ہے۔ جب امام خطبہ کے لیے آتا ہے تو فرشتے اپنے صحیفے لپیٹ دیتے ہیں اور خطبہ سننے میں مشغول ہو جاتے ہیں۔ اس سے خطبۂ جمعہ کو توجہ اور خاموشی سے سننے کی اہمیت بھی معلوم ہوتی ہے، حتیٰ کہ فرشتے بھی اسے غور سے سنتے ہیں۔ خطبہ شروع ہونے کے بعد آنے والا شخص جمعہ، خطبہ سننے اور نماز میں شرکت کا ثواب پاتا ہے، لیکن جلدی آنے والوں کے لیے مخصوص اس اضافی فضیلت سے محروم رہتا ہے۔

Hadith Commentary: This hadith shows that some believers will enter Hell as a punishment for their sins, and the flames of Hell will scorch their faces and bodies. Then, by His grace and mercy, Allah will bring them out of Hell and admit them into Paradise. Because of the marks left by the Fire, the people of Paradise will call them “Jahannamiyyun” (the people of Hell), but later, by Allah’s grace, this mark and title will also be removed. The hadith also makes clear that such people will not deserve Paradise solely because of their deeds; rather, it will be through the mercy and grace of Allah that they will enter Paradise.

حدیث حاشیہ: اس حدیث سے معلوم ہوتا ہے کہ بعض اہلِ ایمان اپنے گناہوں کی سزا کے طور پر جہنم میں جائیں گے اور آگ کی لپیٹ سے ان کے چہرے اور جسم جھلس جائیں گے، پھر اللہ تعالیٰ اپنے فضل و رحمت سے انہیں جہنم سے نکال کر جنت میں داخل فرمائے گا۔ ان کے جھلسے ہوئے آثار کی وجہ سے اہلِ جنت انہیں «جهنميون» یعنی جہنمی کہیں گے، تاہم بعد میں اللہ تعالیٰ کے فضل سے یہ علامت اور لقب بھی ختم کر دیا جائے گا۔ اس حدیث سے یہ بھی واضح ہوتا ہے کہ ایسے لوگ اپنے اعمال کے بل پر جنت کے مستحق نہیں ہوں گے بلکہ اللہ تعالیٰ کی رحمت اور فضل ہی انہیں جنت میں داخل کرے گا۔

Hadith Commentary: This Hadith shows that the dialogue between Paradise and Hell will be real, and that Allah has given them awareness and the ability to speak. Allah described Paradise as His mercy and Hell as His punishment, indicating that Paradise is a manifestation of Allah’s mercy and that the people of Paradise will enter it by His mercy, while Hell is the place of Allah’s punishment. Generally, those who were considered weak, poor, and of low status in this world will enter Paradise, whereas arrogance and rebellion are causes of entering Hell. This Hadith also shows that Allah does not wrong His creation, and each person will be rewarded or punished only after the proof has been established and according to their deeds. Furthermore, Allah placing His Foot upon Hell is true, but its manner is known only to Allah. It is not correct to inquire into its manner; rather, it should be affirmed and accepted according to the way of the Salaf.

حدیث حاشیہ: اس حدیث سے معلوم ہوتا ہے کہ جنت اور دوزخ کا مکالمہ حقیقی ہوگا اور اللہ تعالیٰ نے ان میں شعور اور قوتِ گویائی پیدا فرمائی ہوگی۔ جنت کو اللہ تعالیٰ نے اپنی رحمت اور جہنم کو اپنا عذاب قرار دیا، جس سے معلوم ہوتا ہے کہ جنت اللہ تعالیٰ کی رحمت کا مظہر ہے اور اہلِ جنت اللہ کی رحمت سے اس میں داخل ہوں گے، جبکہ جہنم اللہ تعالیٰ کے عذاب کا مقام ہے۔ جنت میں عموماً وہ لوگ داخل ہوں گے جو دنیا میں کمزور، مسکین اور بظاہر کم مرتبہ سمجھے جاتے تھے، جبکہ تکبر اور سرکشی جہنم میں جانے کا سبب ہیں۔ اس حدیث سے یہ بھی معلوم ہوتا ہے کہ اللہ تعالیٰ اپنی مخلوق پر ظلم نہیں کرتا اور ہر شخص کو اس کے اعمال اور اتمامِ حجت کے بعد ہی جزا یا سزا دی جائے گی۔ نیز اللہ تعالیٰ کا قدم جہنم پر رکھنا برحق ہے، لیکن اس کی کیفیت اللہ تعالیٰ ہی بہتر جانتا ہے، اس کی کیفیت میں کرید کرنا درست نہیں بلکہ سلف کے طریقے کے مطابق اسے تسلیم کرنا چاہیے۔

A person should believe that whatever Allah has taken belonged to Him, and whatever He has given also belongs to Him, and that everything has an appointed term. Feeling grief over the death of a loved one and shedding involuntary tears do not contradict patience; rather, they are signs of a soft and compassionate heart. However, wailing, mourning in an impermissible manner, and expressing grief through practices contrary to Islam are not permissible. This hadith also shows that Allah has mercy upon those of His servants who show mercy and compassion to His creation. Therefore, Muslims should share in the difficulties and sorrows of others and treat them with kindness and compassion. It is also part of Islamic teachings to comfort the family during times of hardship, encourage them to remain patient, and remind them to hope for Allah’s reward.

Hadith Commentary: This Hadith shows that unlawfully taking a Muslim’s property through a false oath is a serious sin, regardless of how small the amount may be. Likewise, withholding surplus water from others is also a serious offense, especially water not obtained through one’s own effort, such as water from springs and floods. However, water obtained through one’s own effort, such as by digging a well or fetching it, remains one’s right. The mention of taking a false oath after ‘Asr also indicates the seriousness of the sin. Allah’s not speaking to such people or looking at them is a severe warning, and not looking at them means not looking at them with mercy. Therefore, a Muslim should avoid taking others’ property unlawfully, taking false oaths, and unnecessarily preventing others from benefiting from Allah’s blessings, and should strive for actions that earn His pleasure and mercy.

حدیث حاشیہ: اس حدیث سے معلوم ہوتا ہے کہ جھوٹی قسم کے ذریعے کسی مسلمان کا مال ناحق حاصل کرنا نہایت سنگین گناہ ہے، خواہ مال کی مقدار کتنی ہی معمولی کیوں نہ ہو۔ اسی طرح ضرورت سے زائد پانی کو دوسروں سے روکنا بھی سخت جرم ہے، خصوصاً وہ پانی جو کسی شخص کی ذاتی محنت سے حاصل نہ ہوا ہو، جیسے چشموں اور سیلاب کا پانی؛ البتہ جو پانی انسان نے اپنی محنت سے حاصل کیا ہو، جیسے کنواں کھود کر یا پانی بھر کر، تو وہ اس کا حق رکھتا ہے۔ حدیث میں عصر کے بعد جھوٹی قسم کا ذکر اس وقت کی عظمت اور اس گناہ کی سنگینی کی طرف بھی اشارہ کرتا ہے۔ نیز اللہ تعالیٰ کا ایسے لوگوں سے کلام نہ کرنا اور ان کی طرف نظر نہ کرنا ان کے لیے انتہائی سخت وعید ہے، اور نظر نہ کرنے سے مراد نظرِ رحمت ہے۔ لہٰذا مسلمان کو چاہیے کہ دوسروں کے مال پر ناجائز قبضہ کرنے، جھوٹی قسم کھانے اور لوگوں کو اللہ کی عطا کردہ ایسی نعمتوں سے بلاوجہ محروم کرنے سے بچے جو اس کی ذاتی محنت سے حاصل نہیں ہوئیں، اور ان اعمال کو اختیار کرے جو اللہ تعالیٰ کی رضا اور رحمت کا باعث بنیں۔
