Honored to Attend Punjab Education Foundation Seminar on Public-Private Partnership in Education

The Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) organized a seminar on the Public-Private Partnership Model, bringing together leaders, researchers, and policymakers to discuss strategies for improving access to quality education for millions of children across the province.

The event was graced by PEF Chairman Malik Shoaib Awan, Managing Director Shahid Fareed, Board Members Rana Phool ur Rehman and Prof. Dr. Ayesha Azhar, along with Deputy Managing Directors, senior officials, researchers from leading universities, and heads of private institutions.

Addressing the participants, Chairman PEF stressed the importance of close collaboration between the public and private sectors to enhance education standards. MD PEF highlighted that PEF operates the world’s largest Public-Private Partnership Model, currently providing quality education to more than 3.7 million children, including those in rural areas.

Under the PSSP program, more than 10,000 government schools have shown significant improvement — a testament to the success of the PEF model. The seminar concluded with the distribution of honorary shields and certificates to participating researchers.

I am deeply saddened by the tragic passing of this actress and model Humaira Asgjar Ali but what truly shocks me is the role of our media—unable to regulate itself—and the uncontrollable chaos of social media. Even more disturbing is the behavior of certain so-called social welfare organizations that operate without any accountability. Take Chhipa, for instance. While they claim to serve humanity, their actions lack all sense of humanity.

How heartless do you have to be to film a deceased body? Their workers not only recorded the scene but also made their own videos. Where is the humanity in this? Just for a few likes, they captured and shared those images and videos, letting them go viral across social media. We strongly condemn this act by Chhipa’s employees who went there, filmed footage, and then spread it everywhere.

Is this a joke to them? Is everything just a means to earn clout and gain a few likes? They should be ashamed.

On the other hand, it is high time our government enforces a strict social media policy. Today, anyone can pick up a phone, take a photo or video, and suddenly call themselves a journalist or social worker—without even knowing the basics of journalism or the laws that govern it. Meanwhile, our mainstream media behaves like mere spectators, covering every tragic incident like it’s a spectacle.

This case will probably be in the headlines for two days before being buried and forgotten—just like so many others. The truth behind what really happened remains unknown, as do the elements involved behind the scenes. But in blame games and conspiracy theories, our society is always number one—and proudly plays that role.

The deceased is gone, but has left behind countless unanswered questions. Now, it is the family who will likely bear the lifelong pain.

Stop this brutality, this cruelty, and this unregulated, heartless social media that is willing to sell anything for likes and ratings.
