The Lahore High Court ordered to keep all educational institutions closed on Saturdays till the end of January due to smog. The court directed the Deputy Commissioner and others to issue a notification to close schools, colleges, and universities. Justice Shahid Karim issued a written order on the petitions filed for the remedy of smog.
In the written order, it is said that the Punjab government is taking steps to make the work forum home for two days of the week. In the notification, the word gym closure is suspended. This notification was made under the Corona Clause, and it cannot be applied anymore, the Environment Department should take departmental action against such officers who are not taking action against smog.
The Punjab government has issued a notification in this regard, making it mandatory to wear masks for a week due to increasing smog.
Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi shared a notification on social media platform X and wrote that due to deteriorating air quality, the Punjab government has made it mandatory for all citizens in the smog-affected districts of the province to wear face masks for a week.
