Oil and Gas Development Company Limited has made significant progress in the discovery of oil in . According to the spokesman, the discovery was obtained from the company operated well Tut Deep 1 in district.

The spokesman said that the work on the 5545 meter deep Tut Deep 1 well started on December 25, 2020. The well will yield 882 barrels of oil per day, 0.93 mmscfd of gas.

The funeral prayers of senior journalist Arshad Sharif were offered at Shah Faisal Mosque in Islamabad on Thursday.

Scores of people including members of the media fraternity attended his funeral prayer. He will be buried at the H-11 cemetery in the federal capital.

Security around Shah Faisal Mosque was heightened ahead of the funeral, with deployment of around 3,800 security personnel.

Sharif died after being shot in Kenya with his death raising questions on the incident and the authenticity of Kenyan police's claims.

PTI leader Faisal Vawda claimed Wednesday that journalist Arshad Sharif’s murder was “conspired in Pakistan”, adding that the evidence of the crime has been erased, Aaj News reported.

PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz on Tuesday issued an apology and deleted a tweet regarding slain journalist Arshad Sharif after it was deemed "insensitive and shameful" and drew widespread condemnation from politicians, journalists and activists.

Sharif was shot dead in Kenya allegedly by the local police on Sunday night, with an official police statement later expressing “regrets on the unfortunate incident” and saying an investigation was underway.

Initially, Kenyan media quoted the local police as saying Sharif was shot dead by police in a case of “mistaken identity”.

The news was received with shock and condolences from across the political aisle.

PTI Chairman Imran Khan on Tuesday announced that his party’s long march towards Islamabad for the country’s “haqeeqi azadi” would commence from Lahore’s Liberty Chowk on October 28, Friday.

KARACHI: The second solar eclipse of 2022 will

According to the Met department report, Pakistan, the majority of Europe, Northern Africa, Middle East, and Western Asia will witness the solar eclipse.
In Pakistan, the partial eclipse begins at 1:58pm and ends at 6.02pm with the greatest eclipse occurring at 4pm. The solar eclipse will be seen in Karachi, Islanmabad, Lahore Peshawar Quetta and other cities.
