At least 13 Iranian nationals died while performing the Hajj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia amid rising temperatures in the holy cities, Iranian state media reported Saturday.

"As of Friday, 6 June, the total number of Iranian pilgrims who have passed away during Hajj 2025 has reached 13," the health and treatment operations unit of Iranian Red Crescent Society said in a statement carried by the official IRNA news agency.

The statement did not specify the cause of deaths but cautioned the pilgrims to avoid direct exposure to the sun and drink plenty of water among other things to reduce the risk of heatstroke.

Justice Ayesha A. Malik administered the oath to Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah in a ceremony held at the Supreme Court building. The ceremony was attended by Supreme Court judges and senior lawyers.

Sana Yousaf who had over 740,000 followers on TikTok, was reportedly alone with her aunt at the time of the incident.

Her father, a government officer, was out for work, while her mother had stepped out to the market. Her 15-year-old brother is currently visiting their hometown of Chitral after completing his school exams. The family lived in the upper portion of the house where the murder took place.

According to the aunt, the suspect had come to meet Yousaf and the two had a brief exchange before the shooting. The aunt told police she overheard her niece say, "Go away from here. There are cameras all around. I will fetch you some water," moments before the assailant shot her twice in the chest.

Yousaf's body was moved to PIMS Hospital for a postmortem examination.

A case under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code has been registered by her mother, who stated in the FIR that she could identify the suspect on sight. Initial investigations suggested that the accused and the victim knew each other.

In a major development, Islamabad Police arrested the suspect, identified as Umar Hayat — also known by his nickname “Kaka” — in Faisalabad just 20 hours after the crime.

Sources revealed that the arrest was made possible through a combination of CCTV footage and modern technology, including mobile data analysis.

Hayat, who is 22–23 years old and also a TikToker, has confessed to the murder. He claimed to be a friend of the victim. Authorities confirmed that Hayat fled to Faisalabad following the crime and is currently being transported back to Islamabad for further investigation.

Police have also recovered the murder weapon and the clothes worn by the suspect at the time of the crime.

According to investigators, CCTV footage captured Hayat walking slowly after the shooting, apparently typing on his phone before putting it away and running. It appears he used a car to escape Islamabad via the motorway.

While the suspect has been apprehended and has reportedly confessed, the motive behind the murder remains under investigation.

A young TikToker, identified as Sana Yousuf, was tragically shot dead in the federal capital within the jurisdiction of the Sumbal police station, authorities confirmed on Monday.

According to police officials, Sana Yousuf, who hailed from Upper Chitral and resided in Sector G13 of Islamabad, was fatally shot by a guest who had come to visit her at her residence. The assailant fled the scene immediately after the incident, and police have launched a manhunt to apprehend the suspect.

US President Donald Trump said on Friday that representatives from Pakistan are coming to the United States next week as Islamabad seeks to make a deal on tariffs.

Pakistan faces a potential 29 per cent tariff on its exports to the US due to a $3 billion trade surplus with the world’s biggest economy, under tariffs announced by Washington last month on countries around the world.

Pakistan’s formal negotiations with the United States on reciprocal tariffs started earlier in the day with a phone call between Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb and US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer, a press release from the finance ministry said.

“Pakistan representatives are coming in next week,” Trump told reporters at Joint Base Andrews after departing Air Force One.
