The oarfish usually remains hidden in the depths of the ocean and is only seen by humans when it washes up dead on shores.

Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal said Friday that elections within the stipulated time are only possible if they are conducted on the basis of the census carried out in 2017.

The minister’s remarks came when he was asked about the legal complications arising from the delay in the notification of the digital census — which concluded on May 15.

The provisional results of the census released by the government showed that the population had reached 250 million, and under Article 51 of the Constitution, seats in the National Assembly must be allocated on the basis of population in accordance with the last preceding census officially published.

So, even if the results are notified by the Council of Common Interests (CCI), there’s no time left for the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to carry out the delimitation process, which needs at least 4 months.

Secondly, the coalition government doesn’t have the two-thirds majority in the NA needed for the constitutional amendment to change the number of seats in the legislature.

Ahsan Iqbal said that even if the census is finalised immediately, it is impossible before July 30.

Sources within the Pakistan Military have claimed of unrest amongst the ranks inside the military behemoth.

Although there have been many initiatives taken by the leadership to pacify the majorly Pro Imran Khan sentiments prevailing amongst the NCO and Officers across the board which include monetary and land benefits - yet the ranks are not ready to compromise on their principles. The general feeling is current Military leadership has enabled the downgrade of the image of uniform to unprecedented levels.

Talks are underway of a few Top Level retired "Veterans" of great repute within the Pakistan Military to come out and openly declare joining of PTI near elections. This will go a long way to boost morale and start the braking process of the current fascist streak and eventually start the long journey back to redemption.

The railway’s employees staged a protest due to non-payment of salaries in the month of Ramadan, sources reported on Monday.
In a statement, the workers who gathered at the Pakistan Railways’ Locomotive Shed said that they had not received their salaries from February and demanded the immediate disbursement of their pay.

Last week, Divisional Superintendent (DS) railway also assured about the disbursement of the salaries, but the salaries were not disbursed yet.

The employees said that those who were putting their lives at risk to restore the railway tracks were in a state of despair. Due to the strike, the departure of trains faced delays from Karachi. Trains heading North seem to be unaffected at this time.
