As per the latest news reports, NASA disclosed the X-59 spacecraft, which has a top speed of almost 1,500 km per hour. It plans to launch X-59 'Son of Concorde, whereas the X-59 will be smaller and slower than Concorde.

As per the recent research published by Britain's Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), a flight from London to Sydney, which currently takes 22 hours, could likely be reduced to just two hours.

If reports are to go by, a single-seated X-59 will be about 100 ft long, with a wingspan of just 29.5 ft and a height of 14 ft, like for example, a trip from New York to London can be completed in less than an hour.

Nasa has lost contact with Voyager 2, its pioneering spacecraft.

The space agency said that it had sent a series of planned commands to the probe on 21 July. But those moves left Voyager 2 pointing in the wrong direction: its antenna is now pointing two degrees away from Earth, and so it has lost contact with its engineers. It cannot either receive commands or send back data, Nasa said.

Voyager 2 is now floating on its own, almost 20 billion kilometres from Earth. Nasa still hopes to be able to re-establish contact with the probe, however. It is programmed to automatically reset its orientation a number of times each year, to push its antenna back to Earth. The next reset is expected to happen on 15 October, Nasa said. Until then, the space agency expects the probe to “remain on its planned trajectory during the quiet period”, it said.

Aderrien was shot in the chest by an Indianola Police Department officer early Saturday morning while the officer was responding to a domestic disturbance call at the child’s home, according to his mother, Nakala Murry, and the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation.

Murry said the officer who arrived at the home “had his gun drawn at the front door and asked those inside the home to come outside.” Murry said her son was shot coming around the corner of a hallway, into the living room.

SpaceX plans to carry out its first test flight on Monday of Starship, the most powerful rocket ever built, designed to send astronauts to the Moon and beyond.

The launch is scheduled to take place at 7:00 am (1200 GMT) from the sprawling Texas base of the private space company owned by billionaire Elon Musk.

The US space agency NASA has picked the Starship capsule to ferry its astronauts to the Moon as part of the Artemis III mission, set for late 2025 at the earliest. Starship consists of a reusable capsule that carries crew and cargo and the first-stage Super Heavy booster rocket.

“Success maybe, excitement guaranteed!” Musk tweeted late Friday.

China is set to begin building a lunar base with moon soil in five years. The Extraterrestrial Construction Conference held at Huazhong University of Science and Technology in Wuhan saw over 100 Chinese scientists and researchers come together to discuss ways of building infrastructure on the moon. Ding Lieyun, an expert from the Chinese Academy of Engineering, revealed that a team is designing a robot named "Chinese Super Masons" to make bricks out of lunar soil. Building a habitat on the moon is vital for long-term lunar exploration and will be achieved in the future, Ding said.

In a recent study published in the journal Communications Biology, it was revealed that moon soil samples collected during the Apollo missions were used to grow plants, and for the first time, an Earth plant thrived in the lunar soil. The news comes as China plans to kick off work in five years to build a lunar base using soil from the moon.

China's space station has achieved a major milestone as it can now produce 100% of its oxygen supply through its onboard regeneration system. The development reflects a fundamental transformation in the environmental control and life-support system for China's manned spacecraft.

The system comprises six regeneration subsystems that can produce oxygen, remove harmful gases, treat urine and water, and more.

The technology applied in the environmental control and life-support system ranks among the best in the world.The six subsystems are in stable operation, with 100% of the oxygen resources regenerated and 95% of the water resources recycled. This reduces the amount of supplies from the ground by six tonnes every year.

Over the past 55 years, experts have successfully developed three generations of environmental control and life-support system for China's manned spacecraft, as well as relevant products for Shenzhou spacecraft, extra-vehicular spacesuits, and the three-module space station complex.
