دنیا کی تاریخ میں کچھ دن ایسے ہوتے ہیں جو صرف تاریخ کے اوراق میں نہیں بلکہ انسان کے شعور، فکر اور تہذیب میں بھی ثبت ہو جاتے ہیں۔ 23 اپریل انہی میں سے ایک ہے، جسے دنیا بھر میں کتاب کا عالمی دن کے طور پر منایا جاتا ہے۔ اس دن کا مقصد صرف کتاب کی اہمیت اجاگر کرنا نہیں بلکہ پڑھنے کے کلچر کو فروغ دینا، مصنفین کی قدر کرنا اور علم کے چراغ کو روشن رکھنا ہے۔
یہ دن پہلی بار UNESCO نے 1995 میں منانے کا اعلان کیا۔ اس تاریخ کے انتخاب کے پیچھے بھی ایک خوبصورت تاریخی پس منظر ہے، کیونکہ یہی وہ دن ہے جب عظیم ادیب William Shakespeare اور ہسپانوی ناول نگار Miguel de Cervantes اس دنیا سے رخصت ہوئے۔ یوں یہ دن ادب کے عظیم ستاروں کو خراجِ تحسین پیش کرنے کا بھی ذریعہ ہے۔
📚 کتاب: انسان کی بہترین ساتھی
کتاب ہمیشہ سے انسان کی سب سے سچی دوست رہی ہے۔ یہ نہ صرف علم دیتی ہے بلکہ سوچنے، سمجھنے اور دنیا کو مختلف زاویوں سے دیکھنے کا شعور بھی عطا کرتی ہے۔ کتاب وہ آئینہ ہے جس میں انسان خود کو پہچانتا ہے اور وہ دروازہ ہے جو اسے نئی دنیاوں سے روشناس کرواتا ہے۔
اقبال نے کیا خوب کہا:
کتابیں ہیں چراغِ راہِ منزل
یہی کرتی ہیں انسان کو کامل
اور ایک اور جگہ:
نہیں ہے ناامید اقبال اپنی کشتِ ویراں سے
ذرا نم ہو تو یہ مٹی بڑی زرخیز ہے ساقی
یہ “نم” دراصل علم ہے، اور علم کا سب سے بڑا ذریعہ کتاب ہے۔
📖 آج کے دور میں کتاب کی اہمیت
ڈیجیٹل دور میں جہاں موبائل اور سوشل میڈیا نے انسان کو مصروف کر دیا ہے، وہاں کتاب کی اہمیت کم نہیں ہوئی بلکہ اور بڑھ گئی ہے۔ کیونکہ کتاب گہرائی دیتی ہے، جبکہ اسکرین صرف معلومات دیتی ہے۔
تحقیق سے بھی یہ ثابت ہوا ہے کہ کتاب پڑھنے والے افراد:
زیادہ تخلیقی ہوتے ہیں
بہتر فیصلہ کرنے کی صلاحیت رکھتے ہیں
اور ان کی زبان اور اظہار بہتر ہوتا ہے
✍️ مصنفین کا کردار
کتابیں خود نہیں بنتیں، ان کے پیچھے ایک مصنف کی محنت، تجربہ اور احساسات ہوتے ہیں۔ مصنف معاشرے کا آئینہ ہوتا ہے، جو سچ کو الفاظ میں ڈھال کر دنیا کے سامنے پیش کرتا ہے۔
فیض احمد فیض کے اشعار اس حوالے سے بہت خوبصورت ہیں:
بول کہ لب آزاد ہیں تیرے
بول زباں اب تک تیری ہے
یہی “بولنا” دراصل لکھنے کی صورت میں کتابوں میں محفوظ ہو جاتا ہے۔
🌍 پاکستان میں کتاب کلچر
پاکستان میں بھی کتاب کلچر موجود ہے، مگر اس کو مزید فروغ دینے کی ضرورت ہے۔ لائبریریوں کی کمی، مہنگی کتابیں اور کم ہوتی ہوئی پڑھنے کی عادت ایک چیلنج ہیں۔
اگر ہم چاہتے ہیں کہ ہماری نئی نسل باشعور، بااخلاق اور کامیاب ہو، تو ہمیں انہیں کتاب سے جوڑنا ہوگا۔
📢 پیغام
کتاب کا عالمی دن ہمیں یاد دلاتا ہے کہ:
کتابیں صرف کاغذ کے صفحات نہیں بلکہ زندگی کا تجربہ ہیں
یہ ماضی، حال اور مستقبل کو جوڑتی ہیں
اور انسان کو اندھیروں سے نکال کر روشنی کی طرف لے جاتی ہیں
آخر میں ایک خوبصورت شعر:
کتابوں کی صحبت میں جو وقت گزرا
وہی اصل میں زندگی کا خزانہ نکلا
نتیجہ:
23 اپریل کا دن ہمیں دعوت دیتا ہے کہ ہم کتاب کو اپنا دوست بنائیں، علم کو اپنائیں اور اپنے اندر شعور کی روشنی پیدا کریں۔ کیونکہ جس قوم کے ہاتھ میں کتاب ہوتی ہے، اس کے قدم ترقی کی طرف بڑھتے ہیں۔
