The 1915 Çanakkale Bridge, spanning the Dardanelles Strait in Turkey, represents a remarkable engineering achievement with profound historical and symbolic significance. Linking Gelibolu in Europe to Lapseki in Asia, its construction not only facilitates efficient transportation but also carries deep cultural and commemorative meaning.

At 2,023 meters in length, the bridge serves as a commemoration of the year 2023, marking the centenary of the Turkish Republic’s establishment. This symbolic gesture underscores Turkey’s rich history and its journey towards modernity and progress. Additionally, the bridge’s towers, standing at 318 meters, pay homage to March 18, a significant date in Turkish history commemorating the sacrifices made during the Gallipoli campaign. These commemorative elements embed the Çanakkale Bridge within the fabric of Turkish identity, serving as a tangible reminder of the nation’s resilience and perseverance.

Moreover, the collaborative effort between Turkish and South Korean companies highlights the bridge’s global significance and its potential to foster international cooperation and diplomacy. South Korean Prime Minister Kim Boo-kyum’s emphasis on the bridge’s role in promoting peace and prosperity between East and West underscores its broader geopolitical implications. By facilitating enhanced connectivity and economic exchange, the Çanakkale Bridge symbolizes a new era of collaboration and mutual understanding.

However, the absence of significant bridge infrastructure across the Amazon River stands in stark contrast to the Çanakkale Bridge’s success. Unlike the Dardanelles, the Amazon’s vast width and sparsely populated surroundings have historically deterred large-scale infrastructure projects. The logistical challenges and environmental considerations associated with such endeavors have rendered the construction of bridges across the Amazon economically unfeasible thus far.

The 1915 Çanakkale Bridge stands as a testament to human inge

substantial reward of Dh100,000( 76 Lacs) is being offered for assistance in locating Cuddles, a missing three-year-old cockapoo in Dubai.

The miniature puddle went missing in Al Garhoud on Saturday, escaping from a pet relocation company's car during a trip to a health inspection facility. Despite the pet relocation team's efforts to chase Cuddles, the dog eluded them, leaving the family distressed.

Flyers have been distributed in the neighborhood, and a significant reward is hoped to mobilize residents to help find the missing pet. The family, deeply upset by Cuddles' disappearance, has received numerous inquiries about the genuine Dh100,000 reward, emphasizing their desperation to bring him back.

The family has stated that no questions will be asked of anyone who returns Cuddles. Interestingly, this is not the first time a pet named Cuddles has gone missing in Dubai. In November 2021, another pet with the same name was found after 10 days, and the owner claimed the reward.

Amidst the ongoing general elections in Pakistan, mobile phone services have been abruptly suspended across the country, leaving thousands of voters in a state of disarray as they struggle to locate their respective polling stations.

With the network offline, voters are unable to utilize the customary method of messaging 8300 to ascertain their designated polling stations, further complicating an already challenging situation.

The decision, made by Pakistan's Interior Ministry, purportedly aims to quell potential unrest. However, the sudden suspension has created significant hurdles for citizens eager to exercise their democratic right, amplifying frustration and uncertainty on voting day.

According to an Ipsos survey, approximately 76% of Pakistanis are willing to accept the results of the 2024 general elections, while only 7% have expressed reservations.

The survey, conducted as a pulse check related to the upcoming elections on February 8, indicates a majority commitment to the democratic system and electoral process.

The survey also revealed that 17% of respondents did not vote. In terms of geographical breakdown, 77% of rural residents and 74% of urban residents stated they would have no objections to the election results. Higher ratios of belief in election transparency and result acceptance were reported from rural areas.

Regionally, 79% of respondents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 78% in Punjab expressed readiness to accept the results. In Balochistan, 63% were willing, 74% in Sindh, and 53% in Islamabad had no reservations about the election outcomes.

The general elections are highly anticipated and are scheduled for February 8, 2024. Bringing the CNIC to the polling place is crucial, as casting a vote is impossible without it, and photocopies are not permitted.

The interim government will only consider suspending internet connections on election day, February 8, if a specific district or province requests it due to security concerns, stated interim Interior Minister Dr Gohar Ejaz on Tuesday.

During a press conference in Islamabad alongside interim Information Minister Murtaza Solangi, Ejaz clarified that no decision has been made regarding the suspension of internet services anywhere thus far.

A day earlier, Solangi had dismissed the possibility of an internet shutdown on February 8, asserting that local administrations have the authority to decide on such measures based on the law and order situation. He emphasized that no such situation had been reported at the time.

Caretaker Balochistan Information Minister Jan Achakzai had announced on Sunday that internet services would be temporarily restricted in sensitive polling booths in the province on election day.
