The institution started its career in 1921 as the Mughalpura Technical College. Later it became the "Maclagan Engineering College", a name given to it in 1923 when Sir Edwards Maclagan, the then Governor of the Punjab who laid the foundation stone of the main building, now called the Main Block, which still retains its majesty despite the wear and tear of over eight decades. At that stage the institution offered courses of study in only two disciplines; Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.
After Partition, the building was taken over by then Maclagan Engineering College (later West Pakistan Engineering College and todays University of Engineering and Technology -UET)

The terrible blast in an amusement park in Lahore leaves all mourning for ones who got caught up during what horribly transpired there! May Allah ease their way as per the pain they suffered here amongst such inhumane excuses for being called human beings besides soothing the moaning helpless ones they left behind out of these moments of utter sorrow!! Let's gather round and pray truly for what we lost was the future Pakistan along with the ones trying to mould it to be better than ever!

The Brussels Airport incident is one hell of a heartrending thing to ever occur! Many have been reported dead by now and the count might go on to our misfortune! Now, the thing is people are gonna start getting to their matters being like "What about those in Pakistan who die everyday?!!" The clear answer keeping away any sort of vagueness to such ones is,
Yes! We do feel for them deep in our hearts but the thing is what you do to protect them is what really matters!
