British rock band Oasis reunited in Cardiff on Friday as the Gallagher brothers put more than 16 years of acrimony behind them to deliver a hit-packed set that took thousands of fans back to the optimism and swagger of the 1990s.

The Manchester band defined the “Britpop” revival of guitar music, before tensions between Noel Gallagher, the band’s main songwriter, and his younger brother, lead singer Liam, led to its split.

The group walked onto the stage in the 74,500-capacity Principality Stadium and launched into “Hello,” sounding as tight as at the height of their fame.

Interaction with the audience was minimal during the two-hour performance. Interaction between the brothers was nonexistent until a very brief hug at the end.

The crowd, largely comprising middle-aged fans revisiting their youth, sang along to hits including “Cigarettes & Alcohol”, “Supersonic” and “Roll With It.”

Former U.S. President Donald Trump aims to align with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on a framework to end the war in Gaza during their meeting at the White House on Monday, according to U.S. officials.

Trump is looking to build on the recent Israel-Iran ceasefire to secure progress in Gaza talks, which have stalled for months. Negotiators from Israel and Hamas, with Qatari and Egyptian mediation, resumed discussions Sunday in Doha, focusing on final sticking points in a potential ceasefire.

The proposed deal includes a 60-day truce and the release of 10 living Israeli hostages and 18 deceased hostages. Trump hopes the agreement could lead to a broader peace effort. Netanyahu, however, has remained hesitant to commit to ending the war.

A residential building collapsed in the Baghdadi area of Lyari, resulting in the tragic death of 27 people. According to officials, the Deputy Commissioner South has formed a three-member investigation committee to probe the incident.

Sources said that a case will be registered based on the findings of the inquiry. The Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) officials will also face investigation.

The inquiry committee, led by the Assistant Commissioner South, has raised questions regarding the follow-up actions taken after a danger notice was issued for the building. The committee has demanded that the SBCA present the official notice declaring the structure hazardous and provide evidence if any such notice was publicly displayed on the building.

Investigators are also looking into whether the notice was officially received, whether K-Electric was informed in writing to disconnect the power supply, and whether the SBCA issued instructions to the Water Board and Sui Southern Gas Company to suspend water, sewage, and gas connections to the building.

Further action will be taken after the committee’s detailed report is submitted.

Billionaire Elon Musk said Saturday he is forming a third political party, after a dramatic falling out with Donald Trump, indicating he will make good on threats he made if the president’s domestic policy bill became law.

“When it comes to bankrupting our country with waste & graft, we live in a one-party system, not a democracy,” Trump’s former “first buddy” said on his social media platform, X. “Today, the America Party is formed to give you back your freedom.”

At least 43 people, including 15 children, have been confirmed dead following flash floods in central Texas, authorities said on Saturday as rescuers continued a frantic search for dozens more campers, vacationers and residents who were still missing.

The casualty toll will likely rise, authorities said, as localities beyond the main site of the disaster in Kerr County were affected by the flooding. A Travis County official said four people had died from the flooding there, with 13 unaccounted for, and officials reported another death in Kendall County.

Some news organizations reported the death toll was already as high as 52. Reuters could not confirm that.

Officials said more than 850 people had been rescued, including some clinging to trees, after a sudden storm dumped up to 15 inches (38 cm) of rain in an area around the Guadalupe River, about 85 miles (140 km) northwest of San Antonio.

Youm-e-Ashura, the 10th of Muharram, is being observed with religious reverence and solemnity across Pakistan and around the world today to pay tribute to Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA), the beloved grandson of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and the other martyrs of Karbala.

Processions featuring symbolic representations of the Alam (standard), Zuljanah (Imam Hussain’s horse), and Tazias are being taken out in cities and towns nationwide. Majalis (gatherings of mourning) are also being held where scholars and Zakireen are highlighting the great sacrifices of the martyrs of Karbala.

Religious scholars are shedding light on the teachings of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and the various aspects of the tragedy of Karbala. Comprehensive security arrangements have been made to ensure peace during the processions and gatherings.

In Lahore, the central Ashura procession commenced from Nisar Haveli at Mochi Gate and is proceeding along its traditional route. The procession will conclude after Maghrib prayers at Karbala Gamay Shah.

Hamas announced on Friday that it had “submitted a positive response” to a proposal for a 60-day ceasefire in Gaza, opening the path toward a deal to halt the conflict after months of failed efforts.

Hamas has “submitted a positive response to the mediators, and the movement is fully prepared to immediately enter into a round of negotiations regarding the mechanism for implementing this framework,” the group said in a statement.

Israel had previously accepted the US-sponsored framework, which means the two sides are now expected to enter final, detailed negotiations before a ceasefire agreement is officially reached.

Of the 50 Israeli hostages remaining in Gaza, the proposal calls for the release of 10 living hostages and 18 deceased during the ceasefire. On the first day of the ceasefire, Hamas would release eight living hostages in exchange for an unspecified number of Palestinian prisoners and detainees. Following the release, Israel would withdraw from parts of northern Gaza, and the two sides would begin negotiations toward a permanent ceasefire.

The release of the hostages is to take place without any Hamas ceremonies or fanfare. The remaining hostages would be released on four more dates specific in the proposal.

Efforts to secure a ceasefire intensified following the 12-day conflict between Israel and Iran last month. Qatar, a key negotiator, immediately launched a new round of indirect talks between Israel and Hamas to find a “middle ground” based on previous proposals.

Significant increases in water level have been recorded in the country’s dams following recent rainfall, with Tarbela, Mangla and Chashma barrages nearing their maximum capacity.

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has forecast a rise in water flow in the Indus River and has opened the spillways at Tarbela Dam.

Over the past fifteen days, continuous rainfall across the country has led to an increase of 3.56 million acre-feet in water reserves, bringing the usable water storage to 7.371 million acre-feet. The water level in Tarbela Dam has risen by 66 feet, reaching 1,520 feet. Similarly, Mangla Dam’s storage has increased to 3.019 million acre-feet, with its level rising by 9 feet to 1,168 feet. Chashma Barrage’s water level has also reached 648 feet, leaving only one foot of storage capacity remaining.

According to the NDMA, the opening of Tarbela Dam’s spillways may lead to increased water flow in the Indus River. The authority has warned that the flow could rise from 260,000 to 270,000 cusecs. Residents living near watercourses have been advised to remain cautious and avoid recreational activities along the riverbanks.
