🐄 How to calculate cattle weight without a scale? 🐑
If you don't have a scale handy, don't worry! You can calculate your cattle's weight using two main measurements:
📏 1. Chest circumference (t): Measures around the chest, just behind the scapula (shoulder).
📐 2. Body length (l): Measures from the tip of the shoulder to the tip of the buttock. 🔹 Magic formula:
pt x pt x lc / 10,838
🔸 Example with a cow:
pt: 177 cm
lc: 198 cm
👉 177 x 177 x 198 / 10,838 \u003d 572 kg 🐄✨
🔸 Example with a sheep:
pt: 89 cm
lc: 76 cm
👉 89 x 89 x 76 / 10,838 \u003d 55 kg 🐑👏
