In this compelling episode of the Safety Spectrum podcast, we dive deep into the complex relationship between Generation Z and Artificial Intelligence. I'm joined by Muhammad Usman Malik, a lecturer and my PhD colleague, for a candid discussion based on our firsthand experiences in academia.

We explore the unique strengths and surprising limitations of Gen Z, the first true "digital natives." But our conversation takes a critical turn as we address the elephant in the room: How is the unguided use of AI impacting this generation ideologically and mentally?

The post-war scenario will be terrible for the TTA. Their failure to uphold their commitments and protect Afghanistan from being used as a launchpad against Pakistan has shattered their deterrence. This vacuum is already being filled, as suggested by social media reports of anti-TTA resistance NRF, such as the alleged IED attack that killed the son of Mullah Yaqoob.

I teach at a leading university in Lahore and am pursuing a PhD in International Relations. I consider myself privileged to have studied under luminaries like Dr. Usman Askari, a veritable wizard of IR Theory; Dr. Shoaib, a guru of Security Studies; and Dr. Fatima Sajjad, an authority on colonialism and its enduring effects. The insights I have gained from them have been more profound than anything I learned in my sixteen years as a current affairs journalist.
Now, to the heart of the crisis. In the classroom, I witness a disturbing and near total dependency on Artificial Intelligence for assignments and exams. No matter how much effort and time I invest in them, students overwhelmingly prefer the shortcut. They no longer make notes or read books. The prevailing trend is to outsource their thinking to AI tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude, with about 95 percent relying on GPT alone.

*plz subscribe ,like comment and watch* The September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the United States were a watershed moment in global history, fundamentally reshaping the international order. Prior to 9/11, the world was still navigating the post-Cold War era, with a focus on issues like globalization, economic development, and regional conflicts. Rise of Unilateralism and "Preemptive War": The U.S. adopted a more unilateral approach to foreign policy, often bypassing traditional alliances and international bodies like the United Nations. The concept of "preemptive war" gained traction, justifying military action against perceived threats before they could materialize.Erosion of International Law and Human Rights: In the name of security, practices such as indefinite detention at places like Guantanamo Bay and the use of "enhanced interrogation techniques" (widely condemned as torture) strained international law and human rights norms

The September 11,...

In a powerful and unflinching reality check, Dr. Huma Baqai dissects the global chaos of our time. This must-watch talk delves into the perfect storm of technological disruption, including AI threatening the workforce, and escalating geopolitical tensions that whisper of larger conflicts. Dr. Baqai pulls no punches, critiquing the decline of the Liberal World Order and the failure of institutions like the UN and NATO. She offers a stark analysis of international relations, questioning the nature of the China-Pakistan dynamic and brilliantly deconstructing India's foreign policy shift from "Vishwamitra" to "Nirmitra." From calling out false narratives after the Pahalgam incident to warning about a future where old rules no longer apply, this presentation is a crucial guide to understanding our precarious global moment.

The theories we use to diagnose our pain, postcolonialism, decoloniality, are largely Western constructs, taught in Western-style universities and debated in English. We use their frameworks, their logic, and their jargon to plead for the value of our own. It feels like trying to use the master’s key to unlock a door the master himself built. This leaves us with a profound confusion: in our righteous fight to decolonize, are we unknowingly building a new colony of the mind? Are we, in our desperate search for freedom, simply rearranging the furniture in a house we never designed?

All India Muslim league was formed in Dhacca in 1906, Muslims of south Asia owes freedom struggle to Bangali Muslims. Due to unfortunate events from 1955 to 71 East Pakistan became Bangladesh but two nations theory remained in tact. We the Pakistanies and Bangladeshies share the same struggle for independence. I think it's time we forgive and forget past and create a lose confederation to honour our common heros and strengthen the freedom we together won

In this compelling address, Advocate Muhammad Jibran Nasir delivers a powerful critique of international law at the 2nd International Conference on Critical Peace, hosted by the Center for Critical Peace Studies (CCPS) at the University of Management and Technology (UMT), Lahore.

Jibran Nasir argues that international law has historically been a tool for powerful states, systematically failing the oppressed and marginalized, with a specific focus on the ongoing plight of the Palestinian people. Through a rigorous analysis of case studies from Iraq, Kosovo, and Gaza, he exposes the selective application and colonial roots of the current international legal framework.

This talk is a must-watch for anyone interested in international relations, law, human rights, and social justice. Nasir moves beyond critique to propose a pathway forward, concluding that true and lasting justice will not come from existing institutions but from sustained, global grassroots resistance.

Is Your Mind Truly Your Own? The Challenge of Decoloniality

Ideas and ideologies form the basis of life’s journey. Every step we take is first conceived in the realm of thought, shaped by the frameworks we uphold. Ideology, as I understand it, is the guiding structure of our actions at the conceptual level. Over time, ideas and ideologies become our identities, defining who we are and how we engage with the world.Every civilization is molded by its dominant ideas and ideologies, emerging as a product of its ideological foundations. One becomes a victim of coloniality when they uncritically adopt the ideas and ideological frameworks of others while harboring an inferiority complex toward their own civilizational roots.

Language and Knowledge are main instruments of colonizing minds. Every word in a language has historical roots and construct a specific picture like Love in English create an image in materialism while Ishq عشق in Urdu or Persian creates a picture which has more spiritual than material feel.

Similarly, Knowledge also enforces civilizational paradigms. Freedom in west has entirely different value compare to same concept in Islam. In west concept is more concentrated towards individual freedom and autonomy and this freedom has preference but this same concept is when understood in Islamic framework, it means moral order and communal stability , it discourages any individual freedom which disturbs society in any negative way.

Decoloniality, then, is the process of reclaiming one’s own civilizational ethos, language and knowledge. understanding and living by frameworks that affirm one’s true identity. Human progress lies not in rejecting external ideas but in discerningly adopting what is beneficial while remaining rooted in one’s own ideology.
