The biggest lie in the agency space is that you need perfect funnels and expensive media buyers to scale.
Arham Abid said this in our recent episode. He went from running a bankrupt garment shop during COVID to building an agency with a 350-person remote team.
When he first started online, he wasted massive amounts of time and money trying to build flawless, high-production ad campaigns. He hired multiple media buyers and used highly scripted copy, but the campaigns kept failing.
That failure is what convinced him that the perfectionist route is completely broken. Offshore founders are trained to obsess over perfect scripts and production value, but he realized that simply turning on a we**am and answering clients' direct questions performs significantly better.
His claim, in his words: You don't even need to be the face of your brand to sell high-ticket services in the US. Instead of running ads with his own face, he finds local industry leaders like a well-known US roofing coach and offers them a partnership. They become the front-facing sales engine, and his massive team handles the entire backend fulfillment.
He stopped trying to play the conventional marketing game and built Rozi Academy, capitalizing on the fact that US founders hate paying $5,000 a month for local employees when they can leverage premium remote talent.
