BNU hosted its Annual Sundowner Gala 2025, an evening dedicated to celebrating excellence, achievement, and impact across the BNU community.

The event honored outstanding faculty and staff, and proudly recognized SMC alumni’s two each from TFT and JMC for their professional accomplishments.

We are proud to share that Dr Rabia Noor, Head of Department (JMC), was awarded a certificate for being among the Top 10 Researchers of BNU, while Dr. Farahat Ali received recognition as Runner-Up Researcher of the Year 2025.

The ceremony was also graced by Prof. Dr. Bushra Hameedur Rahman, Dean SMC, who also presented awards to alumni’S of RHSA, making the evening a true celebration of academic and creative excellence.

On December 11, 2025, Mr. Nasir Ali Mazari, Assistant Professor, Department of Theatre, Film & Television (TFT–SMC), served as a jury member in the Documentary category at the 3rd IAC Film Festival.

He also moderated a compelling panel discussion titled “Beyond the Mainstream: Reinventing the Pakistani Film Landscape,” contributing valuable insights to conversations around contemporary cinema and storytelling.

BNU Convocation 2025 | A Celebration of Achievement 🎓

BNU Convocation 2025 was a momentous occasion celebrating academic excellence and new beginnings. The day commenced with an inspiring address by Vice-Chancellor BNU, Dr. Moeed Yusuf, setting the tone for a proud and memorable ceremony.

The event was further honored by Rana Sikandar Hayat, Punjab Education Minister, who joined as the Chief Guest and acknowledged and appreciated BNU’s contributions to higher education in his address.

The ceremony began with the presentation of Gold Medals and Distinction Certificates, recognizing outstanding academic performance, followed by the inauguration of the Dean’s Wall of Honor, highlighting the names of top-performing students.

The celebrations continued as graduates were awarded their degrees, marking the culmination of years of hard work and dedication.

The day concluded with cheerful group photographs with the Dean and Heads of Departments, capturing memories of pride, achievement, and the start of a new chapter.

The 22nd Board of Studies (BOS) meeting of the Journalism & Mass Communication (JMC) Department, SMC BNU was held on 24th November to review and approve key academic developments, including elective courses, MS PR & Advertising thesis titles, the department’s transition to JMC, and the implementation of hybrid learning for selected courses.

The meeting was chaired by Prof. Dr. Bushra Hameedur Rahman (Dean, SMC) and Dr. Rabia Noor (HoD, Journalism Department), with the presence of Ms. Farzana Shahid (Registrar, BNU) and Ms. Noreen Lodhi (GM Quality Assurance, BNU).

Academic insights were further enriched by Dr. Sehrish Mushtaq (LCWU), Dr. Aeman Khalid (UMT), and SMC faculty members Dr. Zeeshan Zaigham, Mr. Naveed Aasim, Ms. Werdah Munib, Ms. Tabina Sirhindi, Mr. Nosherwan Adil, and Ms. Zunaisha Arif.
