At Beaconhouse National University (BNU), sustainability is more than a goal; it’s a commitment.

Recognized by WWF as Pakistan’s first Eco-Smart Campus, BNU continues to lead by example in promoting environmentally conscious practices, responsible innovation, and community-driven impact.

In line with this vision, our Assistant Professor, Miss Werdah Munib, along with her students, has taken a remarkable initiative focused on reducing plastic waste and empowering underprivileged women. Through her project, discarded plastic materials are creatively transformed into eco-friendly tote bags, offering both a sustainable alternative and a means of livelihood for women in need.

We’re proud to share that her project has been selected as a finalist in the prestigious QS ImpACT Awards 2025 in the category of Sustainability innovative award, celebrating changemakers across the globe who are contributing towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

At BNU, we believe that real education goes beyond classrooms; it inspires action, change, and purpose.
