The federal government of Pakistan has announced plans to build new hospitals across all provinces, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), and Gilgit-Baltistan in the 2025-26 fiscal budget.
The Ministry of National Health Services will fund the initiative to ensure fair access to healthcare nationwide. Identified locations include Mirpur and Bhimber in AJK, Chitral and merged tribal districts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Tharparkar in Sindh, and a 500-bed hospital in Panjgur, Balochistan.
Additionally, a specialized cancer hospital will be constructed in Dera Ghazi Khan, Punjab, to meet urgent medical needs. This ambitious healthcare expansion aims to improve medical facilities and services across Pakistan’s diverse regions.
