National Transmission & Despatch Company Officials visit University of Engineering & Technology Mardan.

UET Mardan had the pleasure of hosting Mr. Ashfaq Khattak (XEN, NTDC) and Mr. Amjad Islam (Deputy Director Trainings, NTDC) on 30th October 2025. They were warmly welcomed by Prof. Dr. Murtaza Ali (Registrar, UET Mardan), Dr. Haseeb Ahmad Khan (Deputy Registrar Establishment), and the ORIC Team led by Engr. Hamayun Khan (Industrial Linkages Officer). An in-depth discussion was held on strengthening collaboration between NTDC and UET Mardan in areas of internships, job opportunities, and joint Research & Development (R&D) initiatives.
The NTDC delegation also visited the Department of Electrical Engineering and expressed appreciation for its state-of-the-art laboratories and modern equipment, acknowledging them as “the need of the time.” The visiting team showed keen interest in formalizing this partnership through an MoU focused on R&D collaboration, student internships, and employment opportunities in the near future.
This visit marks another step forward in UET Mardan’s mission to enhance industry-academia linkages and provide meaningful opportunities for its students and researchers.

UET Mardan Participates in Interactive Meeting of Higher Education Institutions

Peshawar, October 28, 2025 - The Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) Regional Office Peshawar hosted an interactive and consultative regional meeting of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) offering engineering programs in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Prof. Dr. Imran Khan, Pro-Vice Chancellor, University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Mardan, represented Prof. Dr. Gul Muhammad, Vice-Chancellor, UET Mardan, at the event. Dr. Qaiser Ali, Vice Chairman PEC (KP), briefed participants on the PEC Governing Body's vision and initiatives for advancing engineering education in Pakistan.

The meeting focused on enhancing accreditation, evaluation, and quality assurance mechanisms for PEC-accredited engineering programs. A Task Force was constituted to formulate and submit actionable recommendations within one month, comprising;

In compliance with the directions received from the Government of Pakistan, the University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Mardan, observed Black Day on Monday, 27th October 2025, to express solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and to condemn the continued human rights violations and illegal occupation in the region.
The observance commenced with a one-minute silence at 10:00 AM in the Seminar Hall, where faculty members, administrative staff, and students gathered to honor the struggle and sacrifices of the Kashmiri people. The event was followed by a solidarity walk around the campus, symbolizing collective support for the right of self-determination of the Kashmiri people.
The event was graced by the Honorable Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Gul Muhammad Khan, whose presence and words inspired the participants and reinforced the university’s commitment to national and humanitarian causes. Among the distinguished attendees were Dr. Sadiq Ullah (Chairman, Telecommunication Engineering Department), Dr. Muhammad Alam (Chairman, Civil Engineering Department), Dr. Murtaza Ali (Registrar), Dr. Asad Ullah (Chairman, Mechanical Engineering Department), and Mr. Fawad Khan (Director, Clubs and Societies).
Addressing the participants, the Vice Chancellor emphasized the importance of unity, awareness, and peaceful advocacy for the rights of the Kashmiri people. Faculty members also shared their views, reaffirming Pakistan’s moral, diplomatic, and political support for the people of Kashmir and condemning the persistent oppression faced by them.
Students and faculty carried placards and banners inscribed with messages of peace, solidarity, and freedom, reflecting UET Mardan’s dedication to promoting justice and human dignity. The observance concluded with prayers for peace, justice, and the right of self-determination for the people of Kashmir.
The Directorate of Clubs and Societies successfully organized and coordinated the event, ensuring wide participation, proper documentation, and adherence to the solemn spirit of the occasion. Photographs and video footage of the observance have been shared with the Information & Public Relations Department through the PMRU Dashboard, as per official instructions.

We were thrilled to officially inaugurate the IEEE Student Branch at UET Mardan. The ceremony was graced by our distinguished chief guest, Prof. Dr. Nosherwan Shoaib, Chairperson of the IEEE Islamabad Section, who shared valuable insights on the vision, mission, and global impact of IEEE, emphasizing its role in advancing technology and innovation.

We were honored by the presence of our Branch Counselor, Engr. Abdullah Farman, and the Head of the Computer Software Engineering Department, Prof. Dr. Ibrar Ali Shah. Dr. Fazal Muhammad Khan, along with esteemed faculty members from the Electrical Engineering Department, also joined us for this momentous occasion.

On October 15, 2025, the students of the 3rd semester, Mechanical Engineering Department, UET Mardan, visited KSB Pumps, a renowned German-based industrial company, as part of their academic study tour under the supervision of Engr. Muhammad Awais (Lecturer) and Engr. Faiq Said (Lab Engineer). The visit aimed to enhance students’ practical understanding of advanced pumping technologies and industrial operations.
The students were warmly welcomed by the KSB management, who provided an overview of the company’s production facilities and technological expertise. Engr. Kaneez Zainab (Production Engineer, KSB) guided the students throughout the visit and shared valuable insights into various types of pumps, their design, and working principles.
The visit concluded with recreational and cultural stops at Park View City and the Faisal Mosque, allowing students to combine technical learning with leisure and cultural enrichment. The study tour proved to be an informative and engaging experience, connecting theoretical knowledge with real-world industry practices.

A seminar titled “AI in Research” was held on 10-10-2025 at the Seminar Hall by Dr. Fahim Ullah Khan. The event aimed to enlighten students and faculty on the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence in modern research and innovation.
Dr. Fahim highlighted how AI is reshaping the research landscape through automation, data-driven insights, and predictive modeling. He discussed practical applications of AI across various disciplines ranging from healthcare and education to environmental science and engineering emphasizing the importance of ethical considerations and responsible AI use.
The seminar also provided valuable guidance for young researchers on integrating AI tools in their academic projects, literature reviews, and data analysis. QEC UET Mardan Reviews Progress on RIPE, PREE & GPR Action Plans

The Quality Enhancement Cell, University of Engineering & Technology Mardan, conducted a meeting on 9th October 2025 to review the progress on the Action Plans of RIPE, PREE, and GPR. The meeting was chaired by Director QEC, Dr. Mohammad Sohail Khan, and attended by members of the IPR Follow-up Committee, PREE Follow-up Committee, Director Academics, Director Postgraduate Studies, Director Clubs, Program Team Members, and other members.
The agenda was presented by Deputy Director QEC, Dr. Shayan Tariq Jan, and a detailed discussion was held on the progress of the RIPE, PREE, and GPR Action Plans, as well as on mechanisms to ensure their effective implementation in true letter and spirit. It was decided to carry out the next progress review meeting in the first week of November and present the findings to the Institutional Quality Circle (IQC) in its upcoming meeting scheduled for mid-November 2025.
The Director QEC appreciated the contributions and dedication of all stakeholders involved in quality assurance activities and encouraged them to continue working with the same enthusiasm and commitment to ensure that UET Mardan achieves the highest standards in quality assurance.

🚫 Anti-Drug Drive in Educational Institutes – KP 🚫

The Directorate of Clubs and Societies, UET Mardan, organized an impactful Anti-Drug Awareness Session and Walk aimed at raising awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and promoting a healthy, drug-free academic environment.
The event was graced by Mr. Zahoor Babar Afridi, District Police Officer (DPO) Mardan, as the Chief Guest and Guest Speaker and Prof. Dr. Gul Muhammad Khan, Vice Chancellor, University of Engineering and Technology Mardan. The esteemed guest speaker’s insightful and motivational address focused on the rise of drug addiction among youth and the collective role of educational institutions, law enforcement agencies, and communities in combating this issue.
The event was attended by Dr. Sajjad Ali (Director Academics), Dr. Sahib Khan (Director Postgraduate Studies and Chief Proctor), Mr. Fawad Khan (Director, Clubs and Societies), Engr. Mansoor Khan (Director Media), members of the Proctorial Board, as well as distinguished faculty, administrative staff, and students.
The Honourable Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Gul Muhammad Khan, delivered the closing remarks, appreciating the DPO’s efforts and contribution to youth awareness and social responsibility. The Vice Chancellor also presented a shield to Mr. Zahoor Babar Afridi as a token of appreciation for his valuable presence and inspiring talk.
The event also featured an awareness walk, joined by faculty, administration, and students, reflecting their commitment to maintaining a drug-free campus culture.

🎓 Certificate Distribution Ceremony – Website Development Competition 🎓

The University of Engineering & Technology Mardan proudly organized a Certificate Distribution Ceremony to honor the talented participants of the University Website Development Competition.

A total of 28 groups registered for the competition, with 7 teams successfully developing websites that were evaluated by students, faculty members, and industry experts.

🏆 Mr. Komail Ahmed from the Department of Computer Science secured the First Prize of PKR 50,000 for his remarkable creativity and technical excellence.

📜 Certificates of Participation were also awarded to all participating students in recognition of their enthusiasm, teamwork, and innovative efforts.
