*OGRA's LAHORE ENFORCEMENT TEAM CONDUCTS SAFETY COMPLIANCE CHECKING INSPECTIONS AT LPG FILLING PLANTS IN KASUR, SAHIWAL AND OKARA*
OGRA in coordination with respective Assistant Commissioners, PERA Force and Civil Defence Officers has undertaken the field inspections, *during 21 - 23 May,* as under:
*1. Baba Freed LPG Plant, Sahiwal*
Capacity 60×6=360 MT with only 60 MT approved by OGRA. And Public Facilities were operational just beside the LPG Plant wall. Firefighting preparedness was below par. The plant failed to reproduce the requisite
*3. Okara LPG, Okara*
The plant management failed to produce any documentation for analysis. Illegal LPG bowsers were parked without any documentation. Firefighting preparedness needed improvement.
*4. Shine Gas, Okara*
The plant was found overcharging above OGRA notified rates. Firefighting training/awareness required.
*5. Renala LPG Plant, Renala*
Capacit 100 MT. The Plant was non-operational at the time of inspections. The management failed to produce requisite documentation/ Invoices for OGRA's analysis.
*6. Mian Energies Plant, Kasur*
Capacity 70 MT. The plant was operational despite construction activity in progress without any substantial safety measures. Oversized bowsers were parked at the facility and sale/purchase invoices were not reproduced. In view of serious safety hazards, the Plant was *SEALED* on-spot through AC (Kasur).
*7. ZAS Energy, Kasur*
Capacity 60×3 = 120 MT with two tanks operational without commissioning approval of OGRA. Mobile storage tanks parked inside the facility. The Plant was also found overcharging above OGRA notified rates.
*FUTURE ACTIONS:*
OGRA Lahore Region has taken a serious notice of the abovesaid safety nonconformities and illegal profiteering.
Show Cause Notices will be issued to above violating Companies and punitive actions including imposing fine and/or suspension of LPG marketing licenses shall be taken, as warranted under the LPG Rules 2001.
