علي مولى المؤمنين {فمن شاء فليؤمن ومن شاء فليكفر} عن جعفر بن محمد (ع) قال: حدثني أبي قال: حدثني علي بن الحسين, عن أبيه قال: حدثني أبي أمير المؤمنين (ع) قال: قال لي رسول الله (ص): يا علي أنت أمير المؤمنين وإمام المتقين, يا علي أنت سيد الوصيين ووارث علم النبيين وخير الصديقين وأفضل السابقين, يا علي أنت زوج سيدة نساء العالمين وخليفة خير المرسلين, يا علي أنت مولى المؤمنين, يا علي أنت الحجة بعدي على الناس أجمعين, استوجب الجنة من تولاك, واستحق النار من عاداك, يا علي والذي بعثني بالنبوة واصطفاني على جميع البرية لو أن عبدا عبد الله ألف عام ما قبل الله ذلك منه إلا بولايتك وولاية الأئمة من ولدك, وإن ولايتك لا تقبل إلا بالبراءة من أعدائك وأعداء الأئمة من ولدك بذلك أخبرني جبرئيل (ع) {فمن شاء فليؤمن ومن شاء فليكفر}. From Sulayman al-A'mash, from Imam Ja'far ibn Mohammad (Pbuh), who said: "My father told me, he said: 'Ali ibn al-Husain narrated to me from his father, who said: 'My father, Amir al-Mu'minin (Pbuh), told me that the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) said to him: "O Ali, you are the Commander of the Faithful and the Imam of the Pious. O Ali, you are the leader of the successors and the inheritor of the knowledge of the prophets. You are the greatest of the truthful and the most excellent of the forerunners. O Ali, you are the husband of the Lady of the Women of the Worlds and the successor of the greatest of the messengers. O Ali, you are the master of the believers. O Ali, you are the proof after me over all people. Paradise is guaranteed for those who follow you, and the Hellfire is deserved by those who oppose you. O Ali, by the One who sent me with prophethood and chose me over all creation, if a servant worshiped Allah for a thousand years, it would not be accepted by Allah unless he accepts your Wilaya (Divine Guardianship) and the Wilaya of the Imams from your descendants. And indeed, your Wilaya is not accepted except with disavowal from your enemies and the enemies of the Imams from your descendants.'
