The Lost Letter
One rainy afternoon, Lily found an old wooden box in her grandmother’s attic. It was dusty and locked, but a small key lay nearby. With curiosity burning in her heart, she opened it.
Inside was a single letter, yellowed with age.
"To the one who finds this," it began,
"I loved you more than words could say, but time kept us apart. If you're reading this, know that my heart always waited for you."
Lily looked at the name at the bottom—Thomas. It wasn’t her grandfather's name.
She took the letter downstairs and asked her grandmother about it. Tears welled up in the old woman’s eyes.
“He was my first love,” she whispered. “War took him away. But I never forgot.”
Lily hugged her tightly. In that moment, she realized love never truly fades—it just lives quietly in the corners of our hearts, waiting to be remembered.
