According to media reports, the Pakistani government has decided to lease the new Islamabad International Airport to international investors in the initial phase. This decision comes after facing practical difficulties in outsourcing two other international airports in Karachi and Lahore. The new Islamabad airport has been deemed a "clean" transaction compared to its counterparts, making it a favorable choice for outsourcing. The government aims to move forward with this process at the earliest possible opportunity.

The International Finance Corporation (IFC) has indicated the presence of interested parties in managing the operations of all three airports, as mentioned in their presentation to Finance Minister Ishaq Dar. However, there are practical challenges that need to be addressed before handing over the airports to international entities. One such challenge is the outstanding debts of the national flag carrier, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), which may affect the provision of free facilities to the carrier by the new airport operator. Additionally, certain sections of the airports in Karachi and Lahore are currently occupied by relevant agencies, requiring a permanent solution to enable potential investors to utilize the entire airport for commercial purposes.

Resolving these practical issues and ensuring a smooth transition will be crucial before proceeding with the outsourcing of the airports. The government has not yet initiated the advertising process for outsourcing but is actively working towards finding solutions to the concerns raised, allowing for the effective management and commercial utilization of these airports.

Pilgrims embarked on their journey to Mina, located in Saudi Arabia, using various modes of transportation such as walking or taking buses. Mina, known for hosting one of the largest tent cities in the world, will serve as the temporary residence for millions of pilgrims during the 8th, 11th, and 12th days of the Islamic lunar month of Dhu Al Hijjah, which marks the Hajj pilgrimage.

Situated approximately 5 kilometers east of the Grand Mosque, the Mina valley encompasses an expansive area covered with over 100,000 air-conditioned tents. These tents, spanning a total of 2.5 million square meters, provide accommodation for more than 2.6 million individuals. The tents are available in three sizes, namely eight square meters, six by eight meters, and twelve by eight meters. Additionally, well-lit and marked corridors connect the tents, facilitating movement and navigation for the pilgrims.
