Alhamdulillah, former Senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan has been released from Israeli custody and has safely reached Jordan, as confirmed by FM Ishaq Dar. Mushtaq Ahmad Khan is currently at the Pakistani Embassy in Amman, Jordan. According to Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, the former senator is in good health and high spirits. “I am pleased to confirm that former Senator Mushtaq has been released and is now safely with the Pakistan Embassy in Amman. He is in good health and high spirits. The Embassy stands ready to facilitate his return to Pakistan, in accordance with his wishes and convenience. I extend our gratitude to all our friendly countries who actively engaged and assisted in this matter, as well as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan,” Ishaq Dar stated in his post on X. Mushtaq Ahmad was taken into custody by Israeli naval forces while attempting to break the Gaza blockade in the red zone. Speaking after his release, Mushtaq Ahmad Khan vowed to continue efforts to break Israel’s blockade. Earlier, Pir Mazhar Saeed Shah, another participant of the Gaza Sumud Flotilla, safely returned to Pakistan. He arrived in Islamabad from Doha and was warmly welcomed at the airport. Efforts were ongoing for the secure release of Mushtaq Ahmad Khan, who was still in Israeli custody at the time. Reports indicate that Israel has released 137 activists from the Sumud Flotilla, including 36 Turkish nationals.
