Did anyone see that Techmoan chap’s video where he discusses weather a motor run capacitor can change the speed of a motor; I would have argued that it would not change the speed, many of his viewers texted in with their arguments weather it would or would not change the speed, but in his video, he demonstrated that it did change the speed, quite significantly. As I understand, the tape motor in this device is a Capacitor Run Induction motor, but he clearly demonstrates that it did change the speed. The capacitor run motor i understand is a squirrel cage motor, therefore it has a maximum speed of synchronous with the mains, all speeds lower will be because of Slip.
Any ideas why his motor sped up with a change of capacitor?
