ریاست بھوپال کے آخری شہزادے تھے، سابق سیکرٹری خارجہ شہریار خان اورکزئی اور بھارتی
فلم سٹار سیف علی خان کے والد منصور علی خان آپس میں خالہ زاد بھائی تھے۔ دونوں نواب آف بھوپال حمید اللہ خان اورکزئی کے نواسے تھے.
ان کی والدہ عابدہ سلطان بھوپال کی آخری سلطان تھیں، پاکستان جب بنا تو بھوپال ریاست انڈیا کے ساتھ شامل ہوگئی اور عابدہ سلطان شہریار خان اور دیگر خاندان سمیت پاکستان منتقل ہوگئیں. عابدہ سلطان کا تعلق اورکزئی قبیلے سے تھا، ان کے پر دادا دوست محمد خان اورکزئی نے بھوپال ریاست قائم کی تھی اور قریباً سو سال تک یہ ریاست ان کے خاندان کے زیر تسلط رہی۔ پاکستان منتقل ہونے کے بعد عابدہ سلطان برازیل میں پاکستان کی سفیر بھی رییں۔ شہریار خان کی والدہ عابدہ سلطان پاکستان کی محبت میں سب چھوڑ کر کراچی آئیں تھیں. بھوپال وہ ریاست تھی جس کے سربراہ کو 19 توپوں کی سلامی ملتی تھی۔ اس ریاست کی شہزادی کراچی میں 8 سال تک بغیر بجلی والے گھر میں رہیں۔
