Rasti Farooq, the globally acclaimed star who garnered widespread praise for her portrayal of Mumtaz in the theatrical hit Joyland, has once again graced the spotlight, this time for her involvement in a unique and internationally recognized theatrical venture. Taking to her Instagram, Rasti penned a heartfelt note, recounting the journey of a play titled Both Sit In Silence For A While, an original English dark comedy written by Joyland star, Ali Junejo.

The story unfolded in 2022 when Rasti took on the challenge of bringing to life the characters in Ali's dark comedy. In her Instagram post, she confessed that the idea of portraying a narrative centred around the complexities of an estranged married couple felt like a gamble. The central question lingered – who would be interested in witnessing two characters tearing into each other for an hour, reminiscent of the dynamics of a strained marital relationship? Is it fair to delve into childhood trauma for entertainment on a weekend?

نگران وفاقی وزیر مذہبی امور انیق احمد کا کہنا ہے کہ افغان مہاجرین پاکستانی پاسپورٹ پر حج پر جاتے تھے، ایسے تمام شناختی کارڈ بلاک کر دیے گئے ہیں۔

کوئٹہ میں پریس کانفرنس کرتے ہوئے نگران وفاقی وزیر مذہبی امور انیق احمد کا کہنا تھا کوئٹہ میں بین المذاہب ہم آہنگی میں شاندار کانفرنس ہوئی، کانفرنس میں علماء کرام اور اقلیتی برادری کے نمائندے شریک ہوئے، ملک کے بڑے شہروں میں بین المذاہب ہم آہنگی کے حوالے سے پروگرام منعقد کیے جا رہے ہیں، ہم نے نوجوانوں کو بتانا ہے کہ انسانیت پر مبنی معاشرے کیسے ہوتے ہیں۔

ان کا کہنا تھا جڑانوالہ جیسے واقعات کی روک تھام کیلئے مذہبی ہم آہنگی کے اقدامات کر رہے ہیں، جڑانوالہ واقعے میں ملوث ملزمان گرفتار ہوئے، انہیں سزائیں بھی ہوئیں۔
وفاقی وزیر نے کہا کہ بھارتی ریاست منی پور میں مسیحی برادری کے 150 افراد قتل ہوئے، منی پور میں مسیحی برادی کے قتل سے دنیا کی توجہ ہٹانے کیلئے جڑانوالہ کا واقعہ رونما کیا گیا۔

حج 2024 کے حوالے سے نگران وزیر برائے مذہبی امور کا کہنا تھا ہماری کوشش ہے کہ حاجی کیمپ میں حجاج کرام کو سہولیات فراہم کی جائیں، پچھلے سال کے حج میں کوئی مسائل نہیں تھے، ہم آنے والے حج کے لیے کام کر رہے ہیں۔

انیق احمد کا کہنا تھا افغان مہاجرین پاکستانی پاسپورٹ پر حج پر جاتے تھے، ایسے تمام شناختی کارڈ بلاک کر دیے ہیں۔

نگران وفاقی وزیر نے کہا کہ وزارت مذہبی امور اور آئی ٹی کی وزارت نے ساتھ مل کر حاجیوں کیلئے بہترین کام کیا ہے، حاجیوں کو کیو آر کوڈ کا حامل سوٹ کیس بھی فراہم کیا جائے گا، اس سال حج پر جانے والی تمام خواتین کو عبایا بھی دیا جائے گا۔

انیق احمد کا کہنا تھا گزشتہ سال حج پیکج 11 لاکھ 75ہزار روپے تھا جو اس سال کم ہو کر 10 لاکھ 75 ہزار روپے ہے

In a celebration of the richness of the Urdu language, the eminent Indian poet and lyricist Javed Akhtar and Pakistani actor Mahira Khan are poised to headline the upcoming Urdu literary festival, 'Jashn-e-Rekhta,' in Dubai, as reported by the official Jashn-e-Rekhta website. Scheduled to be held from January 27 to 29 at Zabeel Park, this festival promises to be a vibrant tapestry of poetry, talks, ghazals, storytelling, and cultural exchanges.

The inaugural edition of Jashn-e-Rekhta took place in London last year and was originally slated for February 2019 in Dubai but was cancelled due to the pandemic. Now, with a stellar lineup including actor Shabana Azmi, producer Samina Peerzada, and Bollywood director Shekhar Kapoor, the festival is set to captivate audiences with a diverse array of literary and cultural offerings.
