In a major development — Iranian President hails Pak-Saudi defence pact at UNGA

During his address to the 80th United Nations General Assembly, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian expressed strong support for the newly signed defence agreement between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, calling it a promising start toward a “comprehensive regional security system.”

He stated:

> “Iran welcomes the defense pact between the two brotherly Muslim countries, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, as a beginning of a comprehensive regional security system with the cooperation of the Muslim states of West Asia in the political, security and defence domains.”

In his address, Pezeshkian emphasized that true security cannot rely solely on force, but must rest on cooperation, dialogue, and solidarity among regional states.

He also reiterated Iran’s longstanding position that it does not aim to develop nuclear weapons:

> “I hereby declare once more before this assembly that Iran has never sought and will never seek to build a nuclear bomb.”

Pezeshkian used the platform to condemn Israeli actions, particularly citing violations of Iranian sovereignty and attacks beyond Iran’s borders (in Syria, Yemen, Qatar).

He further criticized European powers (Britain, France, Germany) for pushing to reimpose sanctions on Iran, calling such efforts illegal and in bad faith.

📌 Context & Significance

The strategic mutual defence agreement was signed on 17 September 2025 at Al Yamamah Palace in Riyadh by Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman.

Under the pact, an act of aggression against one party is to be treated as an aggression against both — a collective security guarantee.

Iran’s welcoming of this pact signals a possible shift toward more cooperative regional security mechanisms among Muslim states in West Asia, especially amid shifting alliances and tensions.

However, Iran and Saudi Arabia have previously stood on opposite sides in regional conflicts (e.g. Syria, Yemen). Their reconciliation in 2023, mediated by China, reopened space for strategic recalibrations.

🌍 UNGA 2025: The World Stands With Palestine, Israel Faces Historic Isolation

At the United Nations General Assembly, the tide has turned. For the first time in history, Israel finds itself in unprecedented isolation:
🔹 The UNGA demanded an end to Israel’s “unlawful presence” in occupied Palestinian territory.
🔹 The International Court of Justice backed this view, calling annexation and settlements violations of international law.
🔹 Major powers — including France, the UK, Canada, Australia, and others — recognized Palestine, joining the global chorus for justice.

Meanwhile, on the sidelines of the UNGA, Donald Trump met with Arab and Muslim leaders to discuss a Gaza peace framework. Calls echoed for:
✅ A permanent ceasefire.
✅ Humanitarian relief.
✅ Protection of Al-Aqsa and East Jerusalem.
✅ A pathway to a sovereign Palestinian state.

Israel’s reaction? Anger, rejection, and warnings — but the diplomatic ground is shifting under its feet. The same agreements once hailed as “normalization” are now at risk. Arab and Muslim leaders have drawn red lines: no peace without justice for Palestine.

📌 What we are witnessing is a new chapter in global politics — one where Palestine is embraced, and Israel stands increasingly alone.

Vance: Trump “Growing Incredibly Impatient” With Putin Over Ukraine War

Full Post / Statement (Summary & Key Quotes):
US Vice President J.D. Vance said that President Donald Trump is increasingly frustrated with Russian President Vladimir Putin, accusing Moscow of not engaging sincerely in efforts to end the war in Ukraine.

Vance told reporters in North Carolina:

> “I believe the president is growing incredibly impatient with the Russians right now because he doesn’t feel like they’re putting enough on the table to end the war.”

He added that although the US has engaged in “incredibly good faith negotiations with both the Russians and Ukrainians,” Moscow has consistently refused to reciprocate in good faith.

“If the Russians refuse to negotiate in good faith, I think it’s going to be very, very bad for their country. That’s what the president made clear,” he said.

Vance insisted that Trump’s shift is not a reversal, but an acknowledgment of the realities on the ground. He emphasized that Trump is confident the war is hurting Russia—economically and militarily—and wants the conflict to end.

Trump has publicly expressed disappointment in Putin, remarking that the Russian leader “let him down” amid growing expectations that his relationship with Moscow could help broker peace—expectations that thus far seem unfulfilled.

Obama Denounces Trump’s “Violence Against the Truth” Over Paracetamol-Autism Claims

Standing before a packed audience at London’s O2 Arena, former U.S. President Barack Obama issued one of his sharpest rebukes yet of Donald Trump — accusing him of committing a “violence against the truth.”

Obama’s remarks came after Trump suggested that the use of paracetamol (Tylenol) during pregnancy could cause autism — a claim dismissed by scientists as false and dangerous. Speaking with both gravity and urgency, Obama warned that such unfounded statements not only erode public trust but also risk endangering lives.

> “When leaders invent science or twist facts, it’s not just politics — it’s violence against the truth, against people’s health, against democracy itself,” Obama declared, drawing loud applause.

According to Politico, Obama used the moment to underscore the wider dangers of misinformation and populism, cautioning that reckless rhetoric from those in power has long-lasting consequences. He linked Trump’s remarks to a broader pattern of falsehoods that undermine institutions and weaken democratic resilience.

The clash between the two former presidents has injected fresh fire into the global political conversation, with Obama positioning himself as a voice of reason, fact, and accountability at a time when misinformation spreads faster than ever.

Trump Presents 21-Point Gaza Peace Plan at UNGA Sidelines with Arab & Muslim Leaders

At the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, former U.S. President Donald Trump unveiled a 21-point proposal aimed at ending the Gaza war and shaping postwar governance.

According to Reuters, Trump’s plan calls for:

An immediate ceasefire and Israeli withdrawal from Gaza in stages.

A postwar governance structure that excludes Hamas.

Deployment of a multinational Arab/Muslim security force alongside Palestinian elements to stabilize Gaza.

Financial reconstruction, with Gulf and Muslim countries footing much of the bill.

A stronger role for the Palestinian Authority, though not under Hamas control.

A U.S. commitment to prevent Israeli annexation of West Bank territory.

Axios adds that Trump asked Arab leaders to back these principles, while Al-Monitor reports that the plan reassures Muslim states that the U.S. would block new Israeli settlements or annexation moves.

Arab leaders — including those from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, UAE, Qatar, Turkey, and Pakistan — reportedly welcomed the discussion, though the full details of Trump’s 21-point plan remain undisclosed.

Not necessary, and very bad timing.
