Cristiano Ronaldo was officially presented by Al Nassr as the Saudi Arabian club’s superstar new signing on Tuesday, and said he turned down multiple other offers from Europe and North America.
The former Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus forward has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract to play in the Saudi Pro League in one of the most surprising transfers in the sport’s history.
“I’m so proud to make this big decision in my life. In Europe my work is done. I won everything and played for the most important clubs in Europe. This is a new challenge,” Ronaldo said at a news conference.
The soccer great, who has won five Ballon d’Or awards for the best player in the world and five Champions League titles, will play outside of Europe for the first time in his storied career.
Ronaldo was set to be presented to fans later at the 25,000 capacity Mrsool Park in Riyadh, which will become his new home after agreeing a deal reportedly worth up to $200 million a year — making him the highest paid soccer player in history

Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) collected a tax of Rs3,428 billion in the first two quarters (six months) of the current fiscal year.
The tax income of FBR has increased by 17 percent compared with the previous year, according to the statement of the FBR.
The tax collected in December 2022 alone was Rs740 billion while tax amount of Rs149 billion was collected in December 2021.
A tax refund of Rs176 billion was given in the first six months of the ongoing fiscal year compared with the tax refund of Rs149 billion during the same period of the previous fiscal year.

As Soybean shipments remained stuck at ports, the demand for poultry meat has increased in Lahore pushing the price of meat to an alarming high of Rs509 per kg.
Reports in local media claimed that the price of poultry meat has witnessed a sharp increase of Rs60 per kg in a couple of days while eggs are being sold at Rs274 per dozen.
Amid the sharp increase, the distressed citizens slammed the district government for no action against overcharging and leaving the consumers at the mercy of sellers.
In previous months, chicken meat was being sold at Rs370-400 however the recent wave of inflation and shortage of soybean led the poultry sector to the brink of collapse.

The effects of the rapidly increasing inflation across the country have now started to be seen on the motorway as well. Earlier, there were reports of various items being sold at arbitrary rates on the motorway, now it has been reported that washroom fees on the motorway have been increased by more than 50%, due to which the passengers are facing difficulties.
Complaints about the arbitrary prices of food and drinks at the service areas of Islamabad Peshawar Motorway (M1) continue to be received, but now arbitrary fees have also been started in the provision of pad washroom service at the M1 service areas. And the fee for using the washroom on Motorway M1 has been increased from 50 rupees to 80 rupees due to which the passengers are facing serious difficulties.
